With the launch of Galaxy A40, Samsung has added a total of 10 phones with many more like A20, A60, and A90 in the pipeline. With the Galaxy A40 moniker, it’s a no-brainer that its placed midst Galaxy A30 (review) and Galaxy A50 phones. So, let’s see how is it better than Galaxy A30 and how much it differs from Galaxy A50.

Samsung Galaxy A40 specifications

Upfront, the phone displays a 5.9-inch Super AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution and an Infinity-U cutout up top. So, its smaller device compared to the 6.4-inch display size of both Galaxy A30 and A50.

It shares the same processor, i.e. Exynos 7885 with Samsung Galaxy A30. In the memory zone too, it has a 4GB RAM+ 64GB ROM  – same as in A30. The similarities continue with a dedicated expandable storage slot which goes up to 512GB.

The camera setup also has a familiar 16MP+5MP (ultra-wide sensor) duo. The front camera is a 25MP selfie snapper just like in Galaxy A50.

One area where it differs from its siblings is the 3,100mAh battery and this could be a letdown for some. Gladly, the software experience would be the same as in the recent A-series phones, i.e. Android 9.0 Pie based One UI. You also get usual connectivity options like Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth v4.2, 4G VoLTE capable dual SIM slots (nano), NFC, and USB Type-C port.
