TL; DR
  • SHARP launched India’s first window AC with active air purification (Plasmacluster).
  • New lineup includes Ryohu (inverter) and Ryohu-FS (fixed speed) from 1.5 Ton to 2 Ton.
  • Pricing starts at ₹34,490, with 5-year warranty and up to 10-year compressor warranty.

SHARP has launched a new range of window air conditioners in India, and the main highlight here is something different. This is being called the first window AC in India with active air purification, powered by SHARP’s Plasmacluster technology. The idea is simple, the AC releases positive and negative ions to reduce bacteria, allergens, and odours while running.

The lineup includes two series, Ryohu (inverter) and Ryohu-FS (fixed speed), covering capacities from around 1.4 Ton to 1.7 Ton and going up to 2 Ton in the broader range. These are designed for Indian conditions, with cooling support even at 52°C ambient temperatures. Features like twin rotary inverter compressor, turbo mode, Coanda airflow, and 4-way auto swing are included for faster and more even cooling across the room.

On the inverter side, the Ryohu models come with a 4-in-1 convertible mode, so you can adjust cooling capacity based on usage. You also get multiple modes like auto, cool, dry, and fan, along with a touch panel display, LED indicators, and auto-restart. Select models include the Plasmacluster tech, which is the main talking point here.

The fixed-speed Ryohu-FS models focus more on straightforward cooling, with capacities between 1.41 Ton to 1.70 Ton and cooling output ranging from 4950 W to 5975 W. These units support long air throw up to 18 meters, and include features like copper condensers, anti-corrosion coating, dust filters, and R32 refrigerant. They also run on SHARP’s “Japan 7 Shields” durability framework.

In terms of pricing, the Ryohu-FS starts at ₹34,490, while the Ryohu inverter models start at ₹39,990. All models come with a 5-year comprehensive warranty, and the inverter lineup also gets a 10-year compressor warranty. Availability is through retail stores and online platforms across India.
