Samsung Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra are rumored to come with a significant upgrade in fast charging capabilities, incorporating electric vehicle (EV) battery technology. According to a recent tip, Samsung plans to increase the charging power in its upcoming Galaxy S24 series. The current models, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra, offer fast charging of up to 45W, while the standard S23 variant supports only 25W, a specification that has remained unchanged since 2019. However, the Galaxy S24 series is expected to feature fast charging speeds of up to 65W, representing a notable improvement.

In addition to the enhanced charging power, the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra are rumored to feature a 5,000mAh battery, maintaining the same capacity as their predecessors, the Galaxy S23 Ultra models. An informant known as RGcloudS claims that Samsung plans to adopt stacked batteries in the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra. Stacked batteries, which are currently utilized in electric vehicles, offer improved charging efficiency and overall performance compared to the winding technology currently employed. This technology is also reportedly being used in Apple’s iPhone 15 series, as mentioned by the tipster.

Nevertheless, the implementation of stacked batteries may be limited to the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra models due to production constraints. There is a possibility that it might be exclusively reserved for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, while the standard Galaxy S24 may continue to support 25W fast charging. However, no official confirmation has been provided regarding this matter.

The tipster further mentions that the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s stacked batteries will incorporate a cooling gel, which aims to minimize heat dissipation from the device. Samsung is currently conducting tests, and it will take some time before the decision is made on which models will incorporate this battery technology.

Samsung is currently preparing for its upcoming Unpacked event scheduled for July 26th. During this event, the tech giant is expected to unveil its next-generation foldable devices, likely to be the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. It is also anticipated that additional devices, such as the Galaxy Tab S8 series, new Galaxy Buds, and the Galaxy Watch, may be introduced alongside the aforementioned smartphones.
