TL; DR
- Galaxy S27 Pro reportedly features a 50MP ALoP telephoto sensor with 3.5x optical zoom.
- Galaxy S27 Ultra may drop its dedicated 3x telephoto camera for a single 5x periscope lens.
- Leaked Galaxy S26 FE case renders reveal a familiar flat-frame Samsung smartphone design.
Just a few days ago, I wrote a report about the Galaxy S27 Pro and how it could come as a smaller alternative to the Ultra flagship. According to a report from Android Headlines, the Galaxy S27 Pro, which is supposed to be the fourth entrant in the purported S27 lineup, could provide a “better camera experience” than the Galaxy S27 Ultra, and if you ask me, this is the boldest claim we’ve heard about the S27 Pro.
But how exactly will Samsung achieve that? Well, via a 50MP All Lenses on Prism (ALoP) sensor on the back, replacing the telephoto sensor found on the regular and Plus models. The sensor will reportedly offer an optical zoom range of up to 3.5x and deliver better low-light performance.

Galaxy S27 Pro Could Gain An Edge In Mid-Range Zoom Photography
Now, you’d argue that the Galaxy S Ultra always ships with a four-camera setup, so the Pro’s triple-camera layout is still a sensor behind, but that might not be true after all. Multiple reports suggest that the S27 Ultra will ditch the dedicated 3x telephoto lens and keep the 50MP periscope lens that provides 5x optical zoom.
So, on the S27 Ultra, it would be the main sensor cropping in for focal lengths or zoom range between 1x and 5x, while on the S27 Pro, it will be the 50MP ALoP sensor that comes in at 3.5x and improves the picture quality (since it provides optical zoom instead of digital). As a result, the S27 Pro could provide better picture quality within a certain zoom range.
However, the S27 Ultra might still reign superior for higher zoom ranges.

Galaxy S26 FE Case Leaks Hint At Familiar Samsung Design Language
Meanwhile, another report from SammyGuru seems to have leaked the design of the Galaxy S26 FE. The outlet has published pictures of third-party handset cases, revealing the smartphone’s design inside transparent finishes.
Unlike the design of the Galaxy S26 series, wherein the lenses protruded out of a uniformly raised, pill-shaped island, the lenses appear to be flush with the camera island on the S26 FE. Other design elements, such as the flat display on the front with a punch-hole display, power button, and volume rockers on the right frame, and a flat back panel, also look familiar.
