Samsung is poised to kick off 2025 with significant momentum. The South Korean technology leader is all set to hold its inaugural Unpacked Event of the Year on January 22, 2025. This first Galaxy Unpacked Event is expected to be a major occasion, featuring numerous product launches and announcements that will establish the direction for the remainder of 2025. Although Samsung has not officially confirmed the date for the Galaxy Unpacked, insider Evan Blass has shared the information on X, confirming that the event will occur on January 22.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Event: Date, Time, Livestreaming Details
Reliable tipster Alvin took to X to share a post in which he confirmed that Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025 will take place on 22nd January 2025 at 10 AM PT which is 11:30 PM IST in San Jose, California. The leak falls in tandem with earlier reports claiming it to be 23rd January. This year Samsung held its Unpacked event on 17th January when it launched the Galaxy S24 Series.
The event will be available for livestreaming via Samsung’s website and Samsung’s official YouTube Channel.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked: Expected Announcements
Samsung Galaxy S25 Series
The highlight of the Galaxy Unpacked Event will be the Samsung Galaxy S25 Series including the regular three models- Samsung Galaxy S25, Samsung Galaxy S25+, and Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. Although the Galaxy S25 Series is expected to get a Slim model too, that might launch alongside the other three models as the teaser indicates four smartphones.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Series is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with up to 12GB RAM and 1TB storage. The series will run One UI 7 based on Android 15 and get new AI features too. Most of the camera setup will be similar to the Galaxy S24 Series, but the Ultra variant might get a 50MP ultrawide sensor this time along with receiving a larger display.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will come in Titanium Black, Titanium Blue, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Grey shades. The vanilla model and Plus model will come in Sparkling Green, Sparkling Blue, Moon Night Blue, Midnight Black, and Silver Shadow shades.
As for the pricing, the Galaxy S25 could start at Rs. 84,999 whereas the Galaxy S25+ might start at Rs. 1,04,999. The Ultra model will start at Rs. 1,34,999. This means a price hike of Rs. 5000 across the series.

Samsung XR Headset Moohan

Recently, Samsung unveiled its XR headset, referred to as Project Moohan. This innovative device is said to feature advanced screens, passthrough technology, and multi-modal input capabilities. A demonstration of the headset was presented during Google’s showcase of its new Android XR operating system, designed specifically for augmented reality glasses. The Project Moohan XR headset will integrate with the Google Gemini AI assistant and will come equipped with applications optimized for a large virtual display.
Users will be able to utilize gesture-based Circle to Search, browse the web with Chrome, and more. Additionally, the glasses will offer live translation features and immersive views on Google Maps. The company is expected to provide a first look at the headset during the Galaxy Unpacked event in January 2025.

One UI 7 Launch

Samsung will debut One UI 7 software along with the Galaxy S25 Series. All new Galaxy S25 smartphones will be pre-loaded with One UI 7 and the company might also announce the rollout timeline during the Galaxy Unpacked event.

Expansion of Ecosystem
While the January event will focus on the Galaxy S25 series only, the brand might tease updates about its upcoming foldables, smart rings, smartwatches, and more. There might be sneak peeks into upcoming Galaxy Tablets, Earbuds, or Galaxy Smart Tag too.
