Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 & Z Fold 4 might come with better Under-Display Cameras in 2022

In August 2021 Samsung launched its top-of-the-line foldable smartphone offerings Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 for the Indian market. The latest foldable members of Samsung’s family have got a good response in the market, so much so that their demand is more than supply in some areas.

One of the most interesting upgrades on this year’s foldable phones by Samsung has been the under-display camera on the foldable screen. Though it is not of very high quality, the 4MP UDC can be used for video calls. Now, with the company working on Galaxy X Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 for next year, it is expected that Samsung is planning to improve the performance of its UDC on the next series of foldable smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 Leaks

This foldable smartphone is expected to be launched in August 2022 and the leaks about what could be new have already started trickling in. At the Galaxy Unpacked event, blogger Naver suggested some key improvements in Samsung’s premium foldable. According to him, the company might feature an improved UDC compared to the current generation model.

The report also claims that Samsung might use the tech for both the displays (main and cover) which means the smartphone will ship with both the selfie cameras underneath the display.

Also, Samsung is focusing on improving the camera performance of the upcoming Fold 4 as it is expected to have flagship-grade cameras. It is also claimed to have a new hinge mechanism, reduction in weight, and improved water and dust resistance. The battery is expected to be the same as Z Fold 3.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 Leaks

As per the latest reports, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 will also get a UDC. The company reportedly has prototypes of both, a hole-punch display and another one with UDC. Either of the 2 will be opted by Samsung depending upon the progress. Z Flip 4 is also expected to get improved hinge (making the device lighter in weight) and water, dust resistance.

Samsung is said to be emphasizing improving the actual picture quality along with improving the stealth factor of the hidden under-display camera.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 are expected to arrive in the second half of 2022.
