Samsung won’t launch a slim version of the Galaxy Z Fold6 at the Galaxy Unpacked event on June 10, 2024, in Paris, France. But guess what? Ice Universe, that tipster we all trust, says the Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim is coming in October in China!

The upcoming device, which has been rumored for a while under names like the Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim and Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra, will be a higher-end version of the current Galaxy Z Fold6. It is now confirmed that Samsung will be naming it the Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim instead of Fold6 Ultra.

In China, it will be named the Samsung W25. Ice says that the Samsung W25 will be lighter, thinner, and larger than the Galaxy Z Fold6, potentially offering a better aspect ratio and a larger cover screen. The name of the device does go hand-in-hand with the slim profile.

The Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim will drop support for the S Pen, meaning the digitizer present in the current Galaxy Z Fold6 will be removed to achieve a slimmer profile.

Additionally, there are whispers about a Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE, a more affordable variant expected to debut alongside the Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim. Rumors suggest that the purported Galaxy Z Fold6 FE will also not support the S Pen. But that’s a story for another day.

Interestingly, some reports suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim will be powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos chipset, which is unusual as the Galaxy Z series has traditionally used Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipsets. Notably, this could only be a China-exclusive thing, and the Z Fold6 Slim should be using a Snapdragon chip when it arrives globally.

Although these are not the first rumors about the Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim, its launch in China suggests a potential global release, including an India launch, possibly alongside the Galaxy S25 series or in early 2025.
