Samsung Introduces TVKey Cloud Technology to redefine home entertainment in India

Samsung, a prominent leader in technology, has unveiled its groundbreaking TVKey Cloud Technology, designed to transform the television viewing experience for Indian audiences. This pioneering solution allows users to access live TV without the necessity of a set-top box. Developed in collaboration with NAGRAVISION, this innovative technology provides consumers with a streamlined and hassle-free entertainment experience, removing the reliance on conventional set-top boxes.

Users can now enjoy all their preferred live and on-demand content through a single Samsung Smart TV remote, thanks to TVKey Cloud technology. This advancement significantly minimizes the need for extra cables and hardware, resulting in a streamlined, contemporary, and user-friendly viewing experience. The technology is compatible with Samsung’s Connected TV models from 2023 and 2024, encompassing Ultra HD, OLED, QLED, and Neo QLED displays.

This advanced technology enables subscribers of the service provider to access premium content through TVKey’s distinctive on-chip security, ensuring robust content protection.

“TVKey Cloud technology is Samsung’s latest in a series of innovations towards powering Digital India. It helps cable and satellite television providers deliver secure and high-quality content so that consumers can enjoy their favorite content on Samsung TVs seamlessly. The innovative technology will set a new standard in India’s television industry,” said Dipesh Shah, Managing Director of SRI-Bangalore.

TVKey Cloud enables service providers to offer high-quality content directly to televisions, whether through pure broadcast, hybrid broadcast OTT, or OTT-only services, thanks to its integrated set-top box functionality. This convergence of content provides consumers with a seamless and sophisticated entertainment experience, enhanced by robust security measures. The advanced security feature is embedded directly into the chipset of connected TVs, safeguarding premium content and protecting intellectual property. Additionally, it allows content providers to secure their long-term investments in content.

Samsung TVKey Cloud Availability

Samsung TVKey Cloud is now accessible through cable and satellite TV providers in India, specifically GTPL and Dish TV, providing subscribers with an unparalleled viewing experience. This technology allows service providers to offer a wide range of services, including live broadcasts and on-demand content while requiring minimal hardware. Users simply need an internet connection to authenticate live TV signals through either a cable or DTH antenna.

GTPL offers consumers a promotional deal where they pay for one month and receive an additional month of subscription at no cost. This package includes a complimentary 15-day subscription to BlackNut (Cloud gaming) and free access to the GTPL Buzz (Live TV app) throughout the subscription period, resulting in total savings of INR 2750. Furthermore, customers will receive a free router and broadband installation. Additionally, by paying for 6 or 12 months of broadband service, consumers can enjoy one or two months of free broadband access, respectively.

DishTV customers will receive a complimentary one-month DTH subscription along with a one-month Watcho subscription, granting access to 16 OTT platforms, resulting in total savings of Rs. 2800.
