TL; DR
  • Samsung has released the fifth One UI 8.5 beta (build ending in ZZAN) for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, with a download size of around 546 to 553MB.
  • The update includes a refreshed Bixby with improved voice recognition, faster responses, and tighter Galaxy AI integration, along with the February 5, 2026 security patch.
  • This is expected to be the final major beta before the stable One UI 8.5 rollout, which will arrive alongside the Galaxy S26 series on February 25, 2026.

Samsung has started rolling out the fifth One UI 8.5 beta for the Samsung Galaxy S25, Samsung Galaxy S25+, and Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. The firmware ends in ZZAN and is currently available to beta participants in the US, UK, India, Germany, and Korea.

The update weighs between 546MB and 553MB, depending on the model and region. It also bumps the security level to the February 5, 2026 Android patch, addressing multiple Android framework and Samsung-specific vulnerabilities.

The headline change in this build is an updated version of Bixby. Samsung has been refining its voice assistant to make it more responsive and better connected to Galaxy AI tools. While the official changelog does not go into deep detail, early testers report faster wake responses, and improved recognition of natural language.

Beyond the assistant refresh and security fixes, the beta focuses on stability improvements and general polish. No major new interface changes or feature additions are listed in this build.

This beta likely is the final stage before Samsung pushes the stable version of One UI 8.5. The official rollout is expected to coincide with the Samsung Galaxy S26 series launch on February 25, 2026.

Once stable firmware goes live, Samsung typically expands availability to older flagship devices such as the S24 and S23 series, foldables, and select A-series models in phased waves through Q2 and Q3 2026.

Users enrolled in the beta program can check for the update by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Enrollment remains open for eligible Galaxy S25 devices via the Samsung Members app.
