Samsung’s Exynos 2200 SoC with AMD RDNA 2 GPU beats Apple A14 in initial benchmarks

Samsung’s Exynos 2200 SoC is yet to go official but there is no dearth of speculation around it. The  Exynos 2200 SoC with AMD Radeon RDNA2 graphics inside is reportedly crushing Apple’s A14 Bionic chip in GPU benchmarks.

According to local Korean media, the upcoming chipset has outperformed all other smartphones SoCs in Aztec Ruins test on the GFXBench benchmark which is known for testing the graphic capabilities of smartphone GPUs. Codenamed as ‘Voyager’, the upcoming CPU manages to hit 170.7 fps frame rates on the Manhattan 3.0 1080p test.

Previously, reports suggested that the Exynos 2200 will feature ARM’s Cortex X1 super core in the CPU and AMD RDNA 2 micro-architecture. Samsung a couple of years back announced its partnership with AMD for its System-on-chips.

The Samsung Exynos 2200 chipset is said to include three Cortex A78 cores and four Cortex A55 cores, and one Cortex X1 super core. It is expected to use A78 and X1 high-performance cores for taxing tasks while the Cortex A55 cores will be able to use for energy-efficient tasks.

Next few months with interest for Smartphone space as Apple and Qualcomm both will be unveiling their next-generation chipset. Apple is expected to launch it with new iPhones in October while Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon (probably Snapdragon 895) around December at its Snapdragon summit.
