Samsung’s One UI 5 beta announced based on Android 13; Know the new features

Samsung One UI 5 beta is available for Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra in the United States, Germany and South Korea.

Samsung has finally released its One UI 5 beta version based on the latest Android 13 OS. The company is rolling out the new One UI 5 on the Galaxy S22 series phones in the United States, Germany, and South Korea. The company announces the new UI ahead of its Unpacked Event to be held on August 10.

Samsung claims to bring the latest OneUI 5 with a range of new customization, security and accessibility features.

One UI 5 Features

Look and Feel

For new customization features, One UI 5 lets users choose up to 16 preset colour themes for wallpapers and 12 colours for the home screen, icons and quick panels. It allows stacking widgets of similar sizes at a single location with a cleaner and organized look. 

Sound and Language

The sound and vibration settings get a revamped menu for a more accessible selection with smooth access to ringtone volume and vibration intensities. Samsung brings a new highlighting feature allowing users to set different languages for different apps.

Camera Feature

The company claims to offer improved camera performance with the new One UI 5 beta update offering some extra accessibility tools. The camera is now equipped with Pro and Pro Video mode with a responsive zoom capability. The new update is aimed to provide more camera controls for one-hand use.

Security and Other

Samsung’s One UI 5 has a Magnifier feature offering a better view and reading experience on Galaxy smartphones. The company has included spoken assistance features like a speak-to-type keyboard, video audio descriptions, etc. The new dashboard for security status provides more helpful insights and recommendations.

Since the beta version of One UI 5 is available to limited Galaxy smartphones and selected regions, we should hear more information on the features and availability during the Samsung Unpacked event on August 10. The launching devices are Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Buds Pro 2.
