SanDisk launches 1TB USB-C Pendrive; works with smartphones too

A few years ago, thumb drive industry was booming in India. However, with data becoming cheaper and mobile phones storages becoming cheaper, the pen-drive market seems to have plunged in recent times. Western Digital subsidiary SanDisk is trying to revive pen drives once again with the launch of Ultra Dual Drive Luxe in India. This new USB Type-C based thumb drive that comes with 1TB of storage.

The SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe Pendrive has a swanky all-metal swivel design and it can easily connect to both USB Type-C and USB Type-A ports. The new thumb drive from Sandisk is based on USB 3.1 Gen 1 which allows it to achieve up to 150MB/s read speed.

It is claimed to be compatible with all the Android smartphones, Windows and Mac laptops including the latest generation MacBooks and iMacs models. Western Digital’s Memory Zone program for creating automatic backs up your latest photos, videos, music, documents, and contacts is also offered with the storage drive.

SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe: Pricing and Availability

Western Digital has promised to offers the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe in 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options. The base 32GB variant will retail for Rs. 849, while the 64GB model is priced at Rs. 1,179. The 128GB and 256GB models of Ultra Dual Drive Luxe are available at Rs. 1,869 and Rs. 3,249 respectively. The high-end variant 512GB and 1TB model will retail at Rs. 6,449 and Rs. 13,529 respectively.

Western Digital has partnered with Amazon India for online sale. These new pen drives will be available on the e-commerce platform from July 4. All the eager customers can currently pre-order the Pendrive from Amazon India. All those who pre-book the Pendrive before July 4th will get Rs. 50 instant discount on the 32GB model via Amazon Coupons and the discount goes up to Rs. 650 for the 1TB model.
