TL; DR

  • The stable version of Samsung One UI 7 will not arrive until next year. It will first be available on the Galaxy S25 series in January.
  • The One UI 7 Beta will be available to developers in certain countries by the end of this year.
  • One UI 7 is expected to bring a major redesign in the UI and UX, hence the delay.

Samsung users hoping for One UI 7 this year are in for some disappointment. While many expected Samsung to announce the update at the Samsung Developer Conference 2024 (SDC24), the event only teased a brief mention of the UI.

Samsung described One UI 7 as being “simple, impactful, and emotive,” with a brand new UX design across the entire user interface. Samsung said that One UI 7 would be less complex (simpler) to use with a unique new look. We also know that it will feature more Gaussian blur and better, smoother animations.

However, the full rollout won’t happen until 2024. A beta version will be available by the end of this year for selected devices, but it might be restricted to certain countries.

The stable version of One UI 7, along with its “game-changing AI features,” will first arrive on the “next Galaxy” (Galaxy S25 series) in January. Other devices, including the Galaxy S24 series, will get the update afterward.

Unfortunately, Samsung may be the last major OEM to release a stable Android 15 update for its flagships. This is likely due to the large-scale redesign and AI integrations causing the delay.

For now, Samsung users will have to wait a bit longer, with the beta expected to reach some users by the end of this year. But the full experience? Not until early 2024.
