Tata Motors Sold 63,331 Cars In February: EVs, Commercial Vehicles Add To The Push

Tata Motors is arguably one of the most popular brands in the market currently. The brand’s recent launches like the Tata Sierra and the Tata Punch have kept the homegrown brand in the headlines at least for the past couple of months and now the sales numbers also tell a tale of Tata’s popularity in India. The brand, in its February 2026 sales numbers, reported a strong year-on-year growth across both passenger and commercial vehicles. Tata Motors, according to data from the brand, registered double-digit growth in the domestic market, car exports, EVs, and more.

Tata Motors in total registered sale of 63,331 passenger vehicles in February 2026, which is a growth of 35.29 percent as compared to February 2025 last year. In February 2025, which is exactly one year back from now, Tata Motors sold 46,435 units. This year, the brand has seen a massive increase of 16,520 units or 35.29 percent. Out of these 63,331 cars, 62,329 cars were sold domestically, and 1,002 units were exported overseas. On a month-on-month basis, however, Tata Motors saw a decline in sales as the brand had shipped 70,222 units a month prior in January 2026.

Even the EV sales for Tata Motors saw a consistent growth, where the brand sold 8,385 units last month in February, which was a growth of 56.93 percent (year-on-year) as compared to last year in February. Last year in February, Tata Motors sold 5,343 EVs in the country.

Coming to commercial vehicles, Tata Motors’ commercial vehicle division also posted decent growth. Total sales for commercial vehicles including both domestic and international stood at 42,940 units last month, which was a growth of 32 percent from 32,533 units in February last year. Domestic commercial vehicles sales touched 40,893 units as compared to 30,797 units last year in February 2025.

Overall, Tata Motors sold 63,310 units of passenger vehicles and nearly 43,000 units of commercial vehicles (CVs) in February 2026. This marks a decent growth in both the passenger and commercial vehicle markets for Tata Motors. Even in EVs the brand saw a growth of almost 57 percent. As compared to the previous month, however, the sales for February 2026 saw a slight decline.
