Tata Punch EV launch in India gets greenlit: Will be the 4th EV by the company

Price will range somewhere between 8 lakhs to 12 lakhs.

Tata Motors has confirmed that it is expanding its EV line-up for the Indian market. The company is planning to launch the EV version of Tata Punch in Q3 2023. The brand already has Nexon EV, Tiago EV, and Tigor EV so Tata Punch EV will be the 4th in this space.

Tata Punch EV gets confirmed

Vivek Srivatsa, Head of Marketing, Sales and Service strategy, Tata Passenger and Electric Mobility has confirmed that “Punch EV is in the pipeline for launch in the Indian market.” Tata Punch EV is expected to be plonked with Tata’s Ziptron high-voltage architecture considering the fact that the Punch is primarily aimed at private customers.

The upcoming Tata Punch EV is expected to be priced in a range of Rs. 8 lakh to 11-12 lakh (ex-showroom).

From the inside, the Tata Punch EV is said to have a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The EV is expected to have Tata’s ZConnect suite of 45 connected features. Some features that are found in the ICE-powered version of Tata Punch will also make their way to the EV version. In terms of range, the Tata Punch EV might lie somewhere between 250km to 300km.

Meanwhile, Tata has also confirmed that it will increase the prices of its cars starting January 2023. The increment will be around 4-5% for various models.
