TL; DR
- Tata Motors will launch the Sierra EV in India in May 2026.
- The electric Sierra gets a new design, two battery packs, and possibly AWD.
- The ICE Sierra’s 20,000-unit success sets high expectations for its electric counterpart.
A hot minute after the Sierra ICE’s launch, Tata Motors is already gearing up to launch the Sierra EV. According to a Carwale report, the automaker will launch the electric Sierra in May 2026. If the ICE’s runaway success is anything to go by, the wailists might start forming before we even see the price tags.

What Makes The Sierra EV Different?

The Sierra EV should get a different front fascia, including a blanked-off, revised bumper, redesigned skid plate, and a tweaked lighting setup. Moreover, it should carry a visually distinct approach from the ICE version of the SUV.
Under the hood, buyers should expect to get two battery packs, consistent with the automaker’s approach across most of its EV cars, including Punch and Nexon. An AWD variant is also on the cards, much like the Harrier QWD, giving performance-minded buyers something to look forward to.

Is The Demand There To Back It Up?
Absolutely. The ICE Sierra crossed 20,000 units in just four months and continues to carry a consistent waiting period (up to two months at local dealerships in Lucknow). With the EV version coming with all the bells and whistles, the prices might fall between Rs. 20 lakh and Rs. 25 lakh (ex-showroom).
For anyone who’s been on the fence about going electric but confused by the Sierra’s attractive and aggressive design, you have something to look forward to, and it’s not going to be very long.
