Tata Motors is set to electrify the automotive world once again, following the successful debut of its internal combustion engine (ICE) Tata Nexon. This time, the spotlight is on its all-electric counterpart, the eagerly awaited Nexon EV. While it shares a strikingly similar design with its ICE sibling, a teaser from Tata Motors hints at the infusion of distinct electric vehicle (EV) features. The automotive industry is abuzz with anticipation as the curtain is set to rise on the Nexon EV’s grand unveiling, scheduled for September 7, 2023. Get ready to witness the future of mobility with Tata’s electrifying evolution.

Nexon EV 2023 Teaser

The tantalizing teaser of the Nexon EV provides a fleeting glimpse of its front fascia before zooming in on the charging port. However, even in this brief preview, one can’t help but notice the thoughtful design refinements that set it apart from its ICE counterpart. The Nexon EV boasts a distinctive blanked-out body-colored grille, seamlessly integrated with a captivating full-width lightbar resting gracefully at the base of the bonnet.

Turning to the rear, it retains the same enchanting taillight design as the ICE model, complete with the signature V-shaped LED light guides and a striking lightbar element. Notably, Tata has opted to bid farewell to the customary blue design accents adorning the exteriors of its current EV lineup, marking a fresh and unique aesthetic direction for this electrifying addition to the brand’s portfolio.

Nexon EV 2023 Interior

While the interior of the Nexon EV is still shrouded in secrecy, early speculations suggest it will bear a striking resemblance to its ICE counterpart, featuring the dual 10.25-inch screens that have become a hallmark of the Nexon’s interior. While many features are anticipated to be shared between the two models, Tata might just have some electrifying surprises up its sleeve, potentially offering additional enhancements tailored to the EV experience.

Safety, however, is a non-negotiable aspect, and the Nexon EV is expected to uphold the same high standards as the standard Nexon. This includes a comprehensive suite of safety features, such as the option for up to six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), three-point seat belts for rear-seat passengers, a blind view monitor, and a 360-degree camera system. With these robust safety measures in place, the Nexon EV aims to provide a secure and enjoyable ride for all its occupants.

Powertrain and Range

In terms of the powertrain, Tata is likely to maintain continuity by adopting the same powertrain options from the current Nexon EV lineup. This means that the Nexon EV is expected to offer both battery pack variants: the 30.2kWh unit seen in the Nexon EV Prime and the more substantial 40.5kWh unit found in the Nexon EV Max. Interestingly, reports suggest that Tata might streamline their nomenclature, potentially dropping the name differentiation currently in use.

Currently, the Nexon EV Prime boasts an impressive range of up to 312 kilometers on a full charge, while the Nexon EV Max takes it a step further with an extended range of 453 kilometers. These robust electric powertrains reflect Tata’s commitment to providing versatile options that cater to a wide range of driving needs, all while embracing the electrified future of mobility.
