Tesla has not yet officially revealed its plan to bring its electric cars to India, but any hint of its likely arrival can create quite a buzz. This time around, it is the company’s Supercharger that has been spotted somewhere in India. In related news, due to the resistance from the Indian government, Elon Musk’s Starlink has had to stop taking pre-orders for its forthcoming satellite broadband connection service.

Tesla Supercharger Spotted

The latest bit of information has been shared by a Twitter handle named Tesla Club India. The tweet includes an image showing the Tesla Supercharger with a brief detail describing the electric car charger.

As per the source, the revealed image is of Tesla‘s V2 150kW Supercharger that supports power delivery of 150kW. The V2 car charger sports Combined Charging System (CCS2) with two plugs on each stall. It appears like Tesla is looking to establish its charging networks ahead of launching the electric cars in the country.

Starlink satellite-based internet services row

Elon Musk’s other venture SpaceX has been building and launching rockets to establish one of the most advanced broadband internet systems. Starlink is the front-face for the internet division which has been already registered in India. It has also announced to commence the services in the country by December 2022.

As such, Starlink was taking pre-orders earlier since February 2021 at a refundable amount of $99. But the process comes to a halt as the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) alerted that the company still has not achieved all the licenses required to offer the services. The DoT also instructed the company to comply with the Indian regulatory framework, thus refraining Starlink from booking orders.

Telecom Watchdog, a consumer forum and an NGO, demanded Starlink to initiate refunds to the consumers with interest and urged DoT to take disciplinary action against the company. However, the company has not said a word on the matter and has just stopped taking pre-orders.
