The Rs. 949 Jio Recharge Plan Lets You Watch The IPL 2025 For Free: Here’s How

The Indian Premiere League (IPL) begins on March 22, 2025. However, this time, fans won’t be able to watch the action for free. As part of the merger between Star India and Viacom18, the joint released JioHotstar on February 14, 2025.

The platform has exclusive streaming rights for IPL 2025, and it won’t allow you to watch the tournament unless you have a subscription. However, if you’re a Jio user, you can get a complimentary JioHotstar subscription: here’s how.

Jio’s Rs. 949 Recharge Plan Offers Complimentary JioHotstar Subscription

Reliance Jio has updated the benefits of the Rs. 949 prepaid recharge plan. While the plan is valid for 84 days, it offers subscribers 2GB of high-speed data per day (accounting for a total data allowance of 168 GB). Further, it also includes 100 SMS per day, along with unlimited voice calls.

However, the most exciting part about the plan is that it offers a complimentary JioHotstar subscription. That’s right. The Rs. 949 Jio prepaid recharge plan now includes a 90-day JioHotstar Mobile subscription, which would otherwise cost Rs. 149 for three months.

Here’s What You Should Know About The JioHotstar Mobile Subscription

It is important to mention that the plan provides unlimited access to live sports, the latest Indian movie premiers, and Disney+ originals. However, this is the ad-supported plan (something to keep in mind) and provides access to 1 mobile device at a time. Further, the streaming quality is limited to 720p.
