Treucaller Launches Fraud Insurance, Will Provide Coverage Up To Rs. 10,000

The caller identification app Truecaller has launched a new Fraud Insurance feature for paid subscribers in India. Over the last three years, digital finance frauds have amounted to over Rs. 1.25 lakh crore, which is massive. With the new feature, the platform aims to curb the rise in online fraud.

Truecaller Partners With HDFC ERGO

To provide the fraud protection facility, Truecaller has partnered with HDFC ERGO, one of the leading insurance providers in the region. Although the insurance is available as an opt-in feature in the app, users can enable it within the app. For those wondering, Truecaller Fraud Insurance provides a coverage amount of Rs. 10,000.

The Fraud Insurance feature is available for Truecaller Premium, Premium Family, and Gold yearly subscriptions. Exclusively available in India, the feature “will give users up to Rs. 10,000 stolen funds reimbursement for call/SMS fraud” on their Treucaller number. However, it is important to mention that the feature is only available for non-business/professionals.

How To Enable Fraud Insurance On Truecaller?

To enable the feature, users should open the Truecaller app on their Android or iOS smartphone, head to the Premium Tab, and select the annual Premium plan. After completing all the steps mentioned, users can select Fraud Insurance from the available options and follow the on-screen instructions to finish the process.

To claim the insurance, users can visit the self-portal in the Fraud Insurance section. For more details, one can visit the FAQ section on Truecaller’s website.
