Ever since Elon Musk took over the microblogging platform Twitter, he has been talking about making quite a lot of changes to the app. One of these includes an option to pay 7.99 USD to get verified on Twitter. Paying this will allow the user to get Twitter Blue Subscription. While the pricing of 7.99 USD for kept for countries like the US, Australia, and Canada, Musk confirmed that the Twitter Blue subscription will also come to India and the pricing will be based on the purchasing power of people in the country. Now, it looks like the official price for the Twitter Blue Subscription in India is out and it is quite surprising as the price is claimed to be Rs. 719 per month.

Twitter Blue Subscription Cost in India

Apparently, Twitter has started pushing Twitter Blue to numerous accounts in the country. The subscription is available only for iOS users in India as of now so if you are using an Android device, you will have to wait a little longer. Reports claim that the subscription price in India is set at Rs. 799 (8.91 USD approx.) per month which is higher than its US pricing of 7.99 USD. If this is true, then the pricing is quite surprising as Musk had said that the plan price will depend on the purchasing power of the people in the country.

The pricing has been revealed by the iOS app store listing and also various Twitter accounts in India have started getting the Twitter Blue icon in their profile menu, so it should not be very long before the official statement will be made.

What does Twitter Blue offer?

Those opting for Twitter Blue Plan will get a blue checkmark, just like the celebrities, companies, and politicians they follow. The users will also get priority in replies, searches, and mentions. They will be able to post longer video and audio files and will have to go through half the ads. These users will be able to edit their tweets, something that many have been wanting for a long time.

Twitter Blue is available for select iOS devices in India as of now. So, if you are an iOS user, Twitter Blue might be available for you. Here’s how you can check it.

  1. Go to the Profile Menu on your Twitter app or Twitter.com
  2. Select the Twitter Blue option displayed there.
  3. Select the blue subscribe for Rs/year button.
  4. Follow the in-app purchase instructions for iOS.
