TL; DR
- A Russian channel has leaked the unreleased M5 iPad Pro, showing a slim design, updated packaging for some regions, and iPadOS 26.0.
- Benchmarks show the M5 chip is 10 to 15% faster in CPU tasks and delivers a 38% jump in graphics performance.
- Base models may now start with 12GB RAM, up from 8GB in previous iPad Pro configurations.
Russian YouTube channel Wylsacom uploaded a video on September 30, 2025, showing an unboxing of the unannounced M5 iPad Pro. The channel has previously revealed unreleased Apple hardware, including the M4 MacBook Pro.
The device shown keeps the slim design of the M4 iPad Pro with a single rear camera. The packaging appears slightly smaller, and the back no longer carries the “iPad Pro” engraving. The software visible is iPadOS 26.0.

M5 Processor Benchmarks Detailed
The iPad Pro unit runs on the new M5 chip with a 9-core CPU. Performance benchmarks indicate a 10% gain in single-core tasks and 12 to 15% in multi-core tasks compared to the M4. The L2 cache has expanded from 4MB to 6MB. Surprisingly, the CPU clock speed is about the same: 4.42 GHz vs 4.41 GHz on the M4.

Graphics benchmarks show the largest change, with Geekbench Metal results revealing a 38% improvement. AnTuTu scores add an 8% boost in overall performance. All in all, the M5 doesn’t seem to be a huge upgrade over the M4 overall.

RAM and Storage Upgrades
The leaked unit was a 256GB model with 12GB of RAM. This is an upgrade from the 8GB previously found in base M4 iPad Pro models. The 512GB variant is also expected to feature 12GB RAM, while 1TB and 2TB versions may retain 16GB.
Leak Source and Expected Launch
Apple no longer sells products in Russia, but Wylsacom continues to access unreleased devices. Industry sources, including Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, have supported the leak’s authenticity.
The M5 iPad Pro is expected to launch in October 2025 alongside new iPad mini and entry-level iPad models. Rumors of dual front cameras for Face ID improvements were not confirmed in the leaked unboxing video.
