TL; DR
  • A Vivo X500 Pro Max prototype leaked on Geekbench running an unannounced MediaTek chip.
  • The chip shows a 2+3+3 core layout with prime cores capable of hitting 4.55GHz.
  • The test itself ran underclocked at 2.8GHz, meaning true performance remains unconfirmed for now.

MediaTek hasn’t confirmed the Dimensity 9600 Pro even exists. However, a Vivo X500 Pro Max engineering unit running the unreleased chip has already appeared on Geekbench.

What The Leaked Benchmark Actually Reveals

The listing includes a device with the model number V2610. It gives us more detail on an eight-core CPU layout split across three clusters: two prime cores capable of hitting 4.55GHz, three performance cores up to 4.35GHz, and three efficiency cores running at 3.10GHz. The test unit scores 2,653 points in the single-core and 7,516 points in the multi-core CPU performance test.

As we can also see, the listing shows 11GB of usable RAM, suggesting the phone could ship with 12GB of RAM in at least one configuration. However, it’s not a usual listing. The test locked the prime cores to just 2.8GHz, which is significantly below their peak clock speed or performance ceiling. So, the results don’t paint a complete picture of what the Dimensity 9600 Pro could actually offer.

Early estimates for a properly clocked unit sit around 4,200-4,300 in single-core and 12,000-12,500 in multi-core on Geekbench 6.

Vivo X500 Pro Max: What Else Do We Know?

Beyond the processor, the X500 Pro Max is shaping up as one of the most loaded flagships. It is rumored to feature a 6.85-inch 2K LTPO display at 144Hz. Then there’s a 50MP Sony LOFIC primary sensor paired with a 200MP periscope telephoto for optical zoom. Finally, the phone could also sport a massive 8,000 mAh battery cell (with support for 90W wired charging).
