Upcoming Car Launches In India (June 2026): Table of Contents
If you ask me, the Indian auto market was dominated by updated hatchbacks, premium SUVs, and flagship-level EVs in the month of May. However, June arrives with a smaller but arguably more diverse lineup.
This month, we’ll get to see car launches spanning different powertrain types, and something that has never happened in the history of the Indian market. Mercedes-Benz is launching India’s first PHEV S-Class, Mini is bringing a locally assembled Countryman, BYD is introducing the country’s first PHEV SUV, and Maruti Suzuki is unveiling India’s first mass-market E100 flex-fuel car.
A V8-powered BMW coupe-SUV, Honda’s flagship hybrid SUV, and a performance-spec Skoda are also in the rumored mix. So, without any further ado, here’s a list of all the upcoming car launches that can take place in the Indian market in June 2026.
Upcoming Car Launches In 2026 (June 2026): Confirmed Models
Maruti Suzuki Flex Fuel Vehicle (WagonR / Fronx)
- Launch Date: June 4 unveil, June 5 commercial launch
Maruti Suzuki Flex-Fuel Vehicle: At A Glance
- Showcase event: June 4, Taj Palace, Delhi; attended by ministers Gadkari and Hardeep Singh Puri
- Commercial availability: June 5, 2026 (World Environment Day)
- Capability: E100 (100% ethanol-compatible) flex-fuel technology
- Two candidate models: Maruti WagonR Flex Fuel (shown at Bharat Mobility Expo 2024) and Maruti Fronx Flex Fuel (shown at 2025 Japan Mobility Show)
- Significance: India’s first mass-market passenger car capable of running on 100% ethanol
This is arguably the most historic car launch in India this year, and I’d say, in a long time. Maruti Suzuki is introducing a new fuel paradigm to the Indian passenger vehicle market, one that is immune to the otherwise complicated engineering related to cars running on biofuels.
The automaker is going to reveal a flex-fuel vehicle that can run on ethanol blends of up to 100%. In other words, it can run entirely on ethanol. The government’s presence at the unveiling underlines that this is as much a policy moment as a product one.

What’s not confirmed, however, is whether the WagonR or Fronx will be the vehicle of choice for the ethanol-optimised powertrain. While the former could debut at an accessible price point (perhaps around ₹6-7 lakhs ex-showroom), the latter might cost around ₹9 lakh ex-showroom.
Even if everything goes right, the commercial success of E100 vehicles depends less on the car itself and more on how quickly E100-grade fuel reaches petrol pumps across the country, and the ownership cost (which includes the fuel cost, mileage, and maintenance cost) of the car, something that hasn’t been talked about at any of the government or private showcases.
Mercedes-Benz S-Class Facelift (S 450e PHEV)
- Launch Date: June 15, 2026
Mercedes-Benz S 450e PHEV: At A Glance
- Variant for India: S 450e: India’s first plug-in hybrid S-Class
- Engine: 3.0-litre turbo-petrol inline-six + electric motor; 22kWh battery pack
- Output: 435hp combined + 680Nm; 0–100kmph in 5.7 seconds
- Exterior: Grille 20% larger with illuminated frame and tiny chrome stars; larger headlights with tri-star DRLs; slimmer tail-lights with tri-star LED motifs
- Interior: MBUX Superscreen with latest MB.OS operating system; software-defined vehicle (SDV) with OTA updates; fewer physical buttons but scroll wheel and steering toggle retained
Mercedes-Benz India has offered the S-Class as a petrol or diesel flagship for a long time. The S 450e changes that with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, a meaningful shift for a car that not only sits but defines the upper end of the luxury sedan segment.

There’s a 22kWh battery onboard, offering buyers genuine electric-only range for urban driving. Backing up the battery is a 3.0-litre inline-six engine. The MBUX Superscreen and MB.OS SDV platform bring the S-Class in line with the software-first direction that the brand is heading in.
At approximately ₹2 crore, the S 450e remains firmly in ultra-luxury territory, which is mostly chauffeur-driven in the country.
Mini Countryman C
- Launch Date: June 17, 2026
Mini Countryman C: At A Glance
- Pre-bookings: Open since late April 2026
Assembly: Locally manufactured at BMW Group’s Chennai plant — first locally assembled petrol Countryman in India
Engine: 1.5-litre turbo-petrol + 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (same unit as in BMW X1 range)
Features: 9.4-inch circular OLED touchscreen, Harman Kardon sound system, heads-up display, matte champagne-coloured accents on grille, skid plates and side trim
Position: Sits below the Countryman JCW All4 and Countryman Electric in the lineup
By assembling the Countryman C in Chennai rather than importing it as a completely built-up unit, Mini can offer it at a more aggressive price point.

The 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine has been borrowed from the BMW X1 and brings proven reliability and power. The Pantone-accented exterior and circular OLED interface give it personality that is hard to compete with at any price point.
At an expected ₹50–58 lakh, it could end up enticing more buyers in India who want a premium compact SUV that isn’t like the majority of cars on Indian roads.
Upcoming Car Launches In 2026 (June 2026): Rumored Models
BMW X6 M60i xDrive
- Launch Date: June 2026 (Expected)
BMW X6 M60i xDrive: At A Glance
- Engine: 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 + 48V mild-hybrid system
Output: 523hp + 750Nm; 0–100kmph in 4.3 seconds; electronically limited top speed of 250kmph
Transmission: 8-speed automatic; xDrive all-wheel drive
Design: Coupe-SUV silhouette; ‘snake-eye’ LED DRLs; gloss-black grille; 21-inch alloys with red brake calipers; dual-pod tailpipes - Interior: Dual-screen setup; ambient lighting; dual-zone auto AC; powered, ventilated and heated front seats; panoramic sunroof; wireless phone charger
- Expected price: ~₹1.50–1.55 crore; rivals Mercedes-AMG GLE Coupe, Audi SQ8, Porsche Cayenne Coupe
The X6 is one of the most polarizing vehicles globally, but in the Indian market, where it sits, it has built a loyal following over the years.

After a three-year absence from the market, the M60i could bring back the nameplate with a genuine upgrade: 523hp from a twin-turbo V8 with mild-hybrid assistance. The engine also allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in sub-4.4 seconds. Finally, the design has been sharpened without losing the distinctive fastback silhouette.
At ₹1.50–1.55 crore, it goes up against the AMG GLE Coupe and Audi SQ8. The pre-bookings are already open, which suggests that the brand has faith in the market and a launch is imminent.
Honda ZR-V e:HEV
- Launch Date: June-End or Early-July 2026 (Expected)
Honda ZR-V e:HEV: At A Glance
- Engine: 2.0-litre strong hybrid petrol (e:HEV); 184hp + 315Nm; e-CVT
Claimed fuel efficiency: 22.8kmpl
Import route: CBU (completely built-up unit); deliveries begin July 2026
Display: 9-inch touchscreen infotainment + 10.25-inch digital driver’s display
Speakers: 12-speaker Bose sound system
Safety: 8 airbags, 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS; seats: Powered front seats; powered tailgate
Notable omissions: No sunroof; no ventilated seats
Expected price: ₹40–50 lakh; rivals Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian
Honda has already showcased the ZR-V in India in May 2026, positioning it as the brand’s flagship SUV that sits above the Elevate in the company’s lineup. For now, it will be the company’s fourth offering in the country, signalling its possible comeback in the Indian auto market.

The 2.0-litre strong hybrid system has already proved its mettle globally, and 22.8kmpl efficiency in an SUV of this size is genuinely impressive (and a must-have at the price). While the SUV is loaded with features like a 12-speaker Bose audio, 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS, the absence of a sunroof and ventilated seats is a bit puzzling for me.
The car could debut at around ₹40–50 lakh, given Honda is following the CBU import route.
BYD Sealion 6 DM-i
- Launch Date: June 9 (Rumored)
BYD Sealion 6 DM-i: At A Glance
- Technology: BYD DM-i (Dual Mode — intelligent) plug-in hybrid
- Engine: 1.5-litre petrol (Xiaoyn engine) + BYD Blade Battery + electric motor(s)
- Output: Up to 324hp; AWD in top variant; FWD in base variant
- Combined range: Up to 1,092km (EV-first driving; petrol engine activates as range extender)
- EV-only range: ~90km
- Features: 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital cluster, panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, NFC key, wireless connectivity, ambient lighting
- Expected price: ₹45–50 lakh; rivals incoming Jetour T2 PHEV, Jeep Meridian
Several reports suggest that the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i could arrive in India on June 9, 2026. If that holds, the car will be a landmark arrival. It will be the country’s first plug-in hybrid SUV.

BYD’s DM-i technology has been exceptionally successful in China and Southeast Asia. It offers EV-like low running costs in a package that doesn’t require a dedicated charging infrastructure. The powertrain claims to offer 1,092km of combined range and around 90km of EV-only range, addressing the two biggest anxieties Indian buyers have about electrified vehicles.
At ₹45–50 lakh, it enters a segment where powerful SUVs dominate, but BYD’s innovation, paired with the fuel economy math, could surely attract a considerable piece of the market. The key unknown remains real-world Indian road performance of the DM-i system.
Skoda Kodiaq RS
- Launch Date: June 2026 (TBA)
Skoda Kodiaq RS: At A Glance
- Engine: 2.0-litre turbo-petrol; retuned for RS — delivers ~60hp and 80Nm more than standard Kodiaq
- Transmission: 7-speed DCT + AWD
- Import route: CBU (completely built-up unit)
- Exterior: Blacked-out grille; aggressive bumpers; 20-inch rims with red brake calipers
- Interior: All-black cabin with red accents; sportier front seats with integrated headrests
- Significance: First RS-badged SUV from Skoda in India; the Octavia RS was the last RS model here
- Expected price: ~₹50–60 lakh
Skoda has brought the RS badge to India before. The Octavia RS remains a favourite among enthusiasts.

The Kodiaq RS extends that performance badging to an SUV. The retuned 2.0-litre petrol with AWD and a 7-speed DCT is a proven combination in global markets, and the blacked-out, red-accented styling differentiates it sharply from the standard Kodiaq.
At ₹50–60 lakh via the CBU route, it will be a tad more expensive than it should be to gather the attention of the mass market, but I guess the company isn’t aiming for that.
Hyundai B2-Segment Electric SUV
- Launch Date: June (Expected)
Hyundai has been spotted testing a new electric SUV on Indian roads several times over the past few months. The camouflaged mules point to a B2-segment (compact) EV positioned below the Ioniq 5.
The vehicle could target the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV directly, depending on its price and specifications. No official name, specifications, or launch date have been confirmed so far, though.
Tata Sierra EV
- Launch Date: July – September 2026 (TBA)
Skoda Kodiaq RS: At A Glance
- Platform: Tata Acti.ev+ architecture
- Variants: RWD and AWD options
- Battery: Estimated 65kWh and 75kWh packs; claimed range 500–550km
- Interior: Triple-screen setup; panoramic glass roof; Harman infotainment
- Positioning: Between Tata Curvv EV and Harrier EV in the lineup
- Rivals: Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV
- Expected price: ₹20–25 lakh
Tata Sierra, one of the most emotionally and physically loaded nameplates in the Indian market, has had a mixed response from reviewers and buyers. While some appreciate the solid and spacious build, along with the features the car offers from the base variants, others point out how the NA engine feels lethargic due to the heavy chassis.

Even so, Tata is pushing through the noise and gearing up to unveil the Sierra EV. On specifications alone, the Sierra EV slots logically between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV, offering an estimated 500km+ range with RWD and AWD options.
The Acti.ev+ platform has already proven itself under the Curvv and Harrier EV. The real question is pricing: at ₹20–25 lakh, Tata would be competing directly with the Hyundai Creta Electric and the Mahindra BE 6 in one of India’s most hotly contested EV segments.
