Vietnamese carmaker Vinfast has finally made its debut in India, after an initial showcase at the Bharat Mobility Expo earlier this year. Vinfast has introduced its Vinfast VF6 and Vinfast VF7 EVs to kickstart the brand’s journey in India. Both the cars have been launched in the sub ₹25-lakh price segment, with the VF6 being the more affordable one.

The Vinfast VF6 has been launched at a starting price of 16.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to ₹18.29 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. The car has been launched with a 59.6 kWh battery which is good for a range of up to 468 kilometers. Vinfast has launched three variants of the VF6 – the Vinfast VF6 Earth, VF6 Wind, and the VF6 Wind Infinity. The Wind and Wind Infinity are the more powerful variant, while the VF6 Earth offers more range, but is low on power and features.

With the Vinfast VF6 joining a rather accessible segment in the market, it only makes sense to see where the car stands as compared to its rivals. Some of the most popular cars that the Vinfast VF6 competes with are the Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra XUV400, the MG Windsor Pro, and more. Let us take a look at how it fares against its biggest rivals in terms of the pricing, battery and drivetrain, and features. Let’s go.

Vinfast VF6 vs Competition: Pricing

As mentioned, the Vinfast VF6 is priced at ₹16.49 (ex-showroom) onwards for the base variant, and goes up to ₹18.29 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-end variant.

The MG Windsor Pro, on the other hand, is priced at ₹17.25 lakh for the Exclusive variant and ₹18.39 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-end Essence variant.

Finally, the Tata Cuvv EV, which is the most expensive car on this list starts at a price of ₹17.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to ₹22.24 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top model of the car.

VinFast VF 6 vs Competition: Battery and Powertrain

The VinFast VF 6 EV comes with a 59.6 kWh battery delivering a claimed range of 468 km on a full charge. The powertrain includes a front wheel drive setup with an output of up to 201 bhp of power and 310 Nm of torque.

The Mahindra XUV400 EV is powered by a 39.4 kWh battery which puts out a rather impressive 150 bhp of power and 310 Nm of torque, which is the same as the Vinfast VF6. With this battery pack, the Mahindra XUV400 EV is claimed to offer a range of 456 kilometers.

The MG Windsor Pro comes with the new 52.9kWh battery pack which is bigger than the standard MG Windsor variants. With this larger battery, the Windsor offers a range of up to 449 km on a single charge. The power output of the car is 134 bhp along with 200 Nm of torque, all of that going to the front wheels.

Finally, the Tata Curvv EV comes with two battery options – a 45 kWh battery and a 55 kWh battery. The 45kWh battery offers a range of up to 430 kilometers and a power output of 148 bhp, while the 55kWh battery pack has a range of 502 kilometers. The 55 kWh battery also produces more power with 165 bhp and 210Nm torque.
