TL; DR
  • Vivo has confirmed September 2 as the T5 5G’s India launch date, at 12 PM IST.
  • Design images strongly suggest it’s a rebranded version of the recently launched iQOO Z11.
  • Confirmed specs include a 7,050mAh battery, 144Hz AMOLED display, and 7.99mm thickness.

Vivo India has finalized September 2, 2026, as the launch date for the Vivo T5 5G, the upcoming mid-range smartphone that could cost around ₹40,000. The handset’s microsite is already live on Flipkart, unveiling a lot of its design (including the available color options), which looks like it’s based on the already-available iQOO Z11.

We also know that the phone will be available to purchase starting 12PM on the same day. Flipkart might also offer some introductory offers. However, both the pricing and the offers are currently under wraps.

A Familiar Face, Wearing A New Coat Of Paint

The image posted online (on the microsite and the X post) shows a horizontal camera visor on the phone’s back panel, something that looks exactly like the iQOO Z11 5G. Beyond the iQOO handset, the camera visor also reminds me of Google’s Pixel series. It features the camera sensors toward the left, while the ring-shaped LED flash is toward the right.

On the front, the phone will feature a punch-hole screen that is curved on the sides.

What Vivo Has Confirmed So Far

The company has confirmed the MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Turbo chipset for the handset. Then there’s the 1.5K AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate curved panel. Finally, the phone leans on promoting its 7,050mAh battery to market itself, especially since the battery is crammed into a chassis just 7.99mm thick.

The new camera visor and the 7,050mAh cell packed into a phone under 8mm thick could be the main talking points here. However, the phone’s specifications, at least on the face of them, don’t look as impressive, at least to me. If Vivo carries the value proposition over to the T5 5G with its own brand loyalty attached, that could be a better strategy for the smartphone.
