vivo had already confirmed the launch date of its compact flagship, the vivo X200 FE, for the Indian market just a few days ago. Now, the company has officially confirmed that the X Fold5 is also on its way to India. While an exact date hasn’t been revealed, speculation is heating up that both the X Fold5 and the X200 FE might arrive together as early as the first half of July.

This announcement comes not long after the X Fold5 made its debut in China on June 17, giving us a clear preview of what to expect from the Indian variant. We also have some specs on vivo’s official page. Based on that, the vivo X Fold5 will weigh just 217g and measure 0.43 cm when unfolded and 0.92 cm and folded.

The vivo X Fold5 will sport a 8.03-inch 2K+ AMOLED inner display and a 6.53-inch outer screen, both running at 120 Hz with peak brightness reaching 4,500 Nits. Under the hood, it runs the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
Camera specs include a 50 MP Sony IMX921 main sensor with OIS, a 50 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera. For selfies, there’s a 20MP front camera. The phone also brings ZEISS-branded optics with T* coating as well. It runs on OriginOS 5 in China, but the Indian version is expected to ship with Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15.

Battery life could be another strong suit for the X Fold5. It packs a 6,000 mAh battery with 80W wired and 40W wireless fast charging. It even has an IPX9+ rating, suggesting a very good level of protection from high-pressure water jets, something rare in foldables.

Pricing in China starts at around ¥6,999 (approx. ₹85,000) and goes up to ¥9,499 (around ₹1.15 lakh), although final India prices could differ significantly. Let me know your expectations on the pricing in the comments section below.
