vivo has officially teased the vivo X Fold 5, with a video released today by vivo China Product Manager Han Boxiao on Weibo, positioning it as the world’s lightest foldable phone. The device is scheduled to launch in China this month, with a global release expected by early July.
The teaser confirms that the vivo X Fold 5 weighs just 209 grams, lighter than its predecessor, the vivo X Fold 3, at 219 grams, and the OPPO Find N5 at 229 grams. It measures 4.3mm when unfolded and 9.33mm when folded, though it won’t claim the slimmest title, as the Honor Magic V5, expected this month, is rumored to be 8mm folded.

As for the optics, it will feature a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto lens, a 50 MP ultra-wide, and dual 20 MP selfie cameras. vivo X Fold 5 Pricing Expectations
vivo will also launch the vivo Pad 5e tablet, featuring a 12.1-inch LCD and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and the vivo TWS Air 3 Pro earbuds alongside the X Fold 5. The X Fold 5’s lighter design and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 may position it at a lower price than the Find N5 and Magic V5, which use Snapdragon 8 Elite chips. This likely means that the X Fold 5, when it launches in India, will be cheaper than the X Fold 3 Pro.
