The technology company vivo has announced the release date for its upcoming foldable device, the vivo X Fold 5, in China. This next-generation foldable is set to be unveiled in China on June 25th at 7 PM local time. In addition to the foldable, vivo will introduce a new set of TWS Buds and a new Pad as well. The slogan for the vivo X Fold 5 is “lighter and stronger,” suggesting a more streamlined and robust design. In this article, we will discuss what we have learned so far about the vivo X Fold 5.

vivo X Fold 5: Expectations

The Vivo X Fold 5 is anticipated to be Vivo’s lightest large-format foldable device to date. It is expected to weigh less than 209 grams and will be available in Pine Green, White, and Titanium colors, featuring a Zeiss-branded circular camera module on the rear. The official image suggests that there are no significant design alterations for this foldable, but it does introduce a new physical button on the left side in place of the mute switch.

According to reports, the X Fold 5 is expected to feature an 8.03-inch inner display alongside a 6.53-inch cover display, both utilizing 8T LTPO panels with local brightness levels of 4500 nits and PWM dimming. Additionally, it will receive TUV Rheinland global eye protection 3.0 certification and Zeiss Master color technology. This foldable device will also have an IPX9 rating for water resistance and an IPX5 rating for dust resistance.

The foldable device is expected to utilize the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and house a 6000mAh battery internally. The vivo X Fold 5 will support 90W wired charging and 30W wireless charging for its battery. Regarding the camera specifications, the foldable is rumored to feature a triple lens configuration on the rear, which includes a 50MP Sony IMX921 main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto lens offering 3x zoom. When folded, its thickness is anticipated to be just below 5mm.

This time, the vivo X Fold 5 will feature complete compatibility with Apple’s ecosystem, allowing for iCloud login, pairing with AirPods accompanied by custom animations, in-phone controls, and synchronization of Apple Watch Health data through the vivo Health App.

vivo TWS Air3 Pro

The company is set to introduce the vivo TWS Air3 Pro Buds, a semi in-ear ANC earphone available in both standard and extended battery options. It will be offered in two colors: Starry Black and Vitality White. vivo will also launch Pad5 Pro.
