Vivo X100 and X100 Pro made their debut a few weeks ago leaving the top-of-the-line Vivo X100 Pro Plus yet to be launched. Turns out the flagship phone is likely to bring an unprecedented camera feature onboard i.e. it will have a 200MP periscope telephoto camera.

Scheduled for launch sometime in April next year, the Vivo X100 Pro Plus will master the industry’s first-ever highest 200MP resolution periscope telephoto snapper. The current prototype being tested at Vivo uses a 4.3x optical zoom with 100mm focal length.

The speculated 200MP periscope telephoto snapper with a 1/1.5” sensor will be able to provide 10x optical zoom and up to 200x digital zoom that should take you closer to any object almost twice what Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is capable of (100x digital Space Zoom). Apparently, tipster Digital Chat Station boasted about X100 Pro Plus’s 200MP periscope telephoto as posted on China’s social network Weibo.

On the optics front, the Vivo X100 Pro Plus reportedly packs in a 50MP primary Sony LYT-900 one-inch type sensor along with the aforementioned 200MP periscope telephoto. Using Vivo X100 Pro Plus for photography should be a bliss although we will have to wait some more as the launch is scheduled sometime in April 2024.

Talking about the yet-to-be-launched flagship phone, it is speculated to sport a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC under the hood. There’s a 2K resolution display with an under-the-display fingerprint sensor using ultrasonic technology for speedy and secure biometrics.

Users reported thermal issues over Vivo X100/X100 Pro’s Dimensity 9300 SoC as it uses no power-efficient cores. However, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC does have a cluster of power-efficient and high-performance cores that should enable the device to break free of its two siblings – the standard X100 and X100 Pro.
