Vivo has rolled out the much-awaited X200 Series of smartphones in China today. The Vivo X200 Series includes three smartphones- Vivo X200, Vivo X200 Pro, and Vivo X200 Pro Mini. These smartphones succeed last year’s Vivo X100 series and claim to offer faster performance, Larger battery life, brighter display, and more. In this article, we will try to analyze what vivo has changed vanilla X200 model is a worthy upgrade over the X100 that came out in 2023.
Vivo X200 Vs Vivo X100: Design


The basic design of the Vivo X200 is similar to its predecessor. The device has a circular camera module at the back just like X100 but gets new color options to differentiate it from the previous generation. The blue color version has a water-patterned cloud design and a microwave texture at the back. There are four sensors on the camera island at the back and the LED sits above the camera module. Vivo branding is present at the bottom. It is made of metal and glass with the back side being slightly curved towards the edges. Vivo X200 is now IP69 rated which is better than IP68 that protected X100. IP69 protects Vivo X200 against hot water jets which wasn’t the case previously. It comes in brand new Moonlight White, Titanium Grey, Sapphire Blue, and Carbon black colors and has a gem-like design that shifts color under different lighting conditions. It is 7.99mm thick.

Talking about Vivo X100, it had a glass back panel design with a matte finish and shiny arcs that gave it an aesthetic look. The back panel was able to prevent smudges and fingerprints too well. Zeiss is etched on the camera module at the back and there is Vivo branding at the bottom. The handset has a curved edge design which makes it feel slippery in hands when they are sweaty. The smartphone comes in Startrail blue, and asteroid black colors only.
Vivo X200 Vs Vivo X100: Display
When it comes to display, the size of Vivo X200 has decreased in comparison to the size of Vivo X100. While the Vivo X100 was 6.78 inches tall with FHD+ resolution and was an AMOLED panel, the Vivo X200 measures 6.67-inch and it is a quad-curved OLED panel with Zeiss Natural Color for industry-leading accuracy.
The display on Vivo X100 came with a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. 120Hz refresh rate and 3000 nits brightness for optimum results, while this time Vivo has focused on high-frequency PWM dimming for a flicker-free performance.
Vivo X200 Vs Vivo X100: Performance
Vivo X200 is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset which has been setting benchmarks recently. It is a 3nm chip and runs its prime Cortex-X925 core at 3.626 GHz. There is up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage onboard. There is also a satellite communication version that can work up to 1km with no cell coverage. It supports SIS text broadcasting and one-on-one voice and text communication.
Vivo X100 was powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset paired with a custom V2 chip for better image processing. It had the same 16GB RAM but storage was limited to 512GB onboard. It worked well while gaming and during everyday tasks and surpassed the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 on the AnTuTu test.

Vivo X200 Vs Vivo X100: OS
Vivo X200 runs Origin OS 5 based on Android 14 and comes with new features like Origin Island, a custom version of Circle to search, AI to handle note-taking and copywriting, and more.
Vivo X100 ran FunTouch OS 14 on top with Android 14 and it wasn’t a stock Android experience. It could be customized as per needs but there were various third-party apps pre-installed that were removable post set-up.
Vivo X200 Vs Vivo X100: Camera


Vivo X200 features three cameras at the back. The main sensor is a 50MP Sony LYT-818 camera developed in partnership with Sony. It comes with a Zeiss T coating and is an upgrade over the main sensor of the Vivo X100. There is a 50MP telephoto and a 50MP ultrawide camera as well completing the setup.
Vivo X100 had a triple camera setup too. It included a 50MP primary, 50MP ultrawide, and a 64MP periscope lens that is a 3x camera. At the front is a 32MP selfie snapper.

Vivo X200 Vs Vivo X100: Battery
Vivo X200 packs a large 5800mAh BlueVolt battery which is an 800mAh upgrade over last year’s X100. Vivo X100 had a 5000mAh powerhouse under the hood.
In terms of charging, X200 supports 90W wired fast charging while X100 has a faster 120W wired fast charging speed.
Vivo X200 Vs Vivo X100: Conclusion


Vivo X200 just launched a few hours ago and that too in China, so we will have to wait for some time to know how it fares in real-world usage. Meanwhile, we do know that the Vivo X100 was an able device, and looking at the specs of the Vivo X200, it seems like this one will be a worthy upgrade too. For now, the X200 comes with upgrades in terms of battery, OS, and design.
