Taking to Twitter, Xiaomi has announced its plans to launch a new home assistant appliance on April 17. The official teaser video, however, does not reveal the name of the product but it’s quite clear that Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner is what the company has up its sleeves. The smart cleaner was earlier launched in China in 2016 with the name- Mijia Sweeping Robot 1S.

The Chinese company released a video with a tweet saying, “How many times do you clean your house every day? What if you could do it, without actually doing it yourself? #SmartCleaning solution for your smart home launching tomorrow. Any guesses, Mi fans?”

The previous version of the Xiaomi smart vacuum cleaner features Laser Detect Sensor (LDS) technology that helps identify objects in the proximity. The Mi cleaner has 2,000 Pa suction using a Japanese brushless motor. To decide the cleaning path, the device uses SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping algorithm) technology equipped with 12 AI sensors. The Mi smart vacuum cleaner is powered with a 5200mAh battery.

We are speculating that Mi could bring an upgraded and customized version of the machine to the Indian market. The cost of Mi smart vacuum cleaner is expected to be somewhere around Rs. 20,000. The smart cleaner will be surely available on Xiaomi India’s online retail store once it is launched.
