Honestly, I'm not even looking at this phone as my main handset. I want it specifically for the e-reader capability. I would have purchased the tablet (which I haven't ruled out) but having an e-reader that I can surf the net with a sim, make a call, use for music and keep it all in a pocket..... I've been waiting for this since I heard about it. I don't understand how this ability hasn't been licensed out to other manufacturers. Good job TCL, may the U.S. market become a gold mine for you.

If you are only using it as an ereader get the TCL 60 Xe. It's out right now and it's pretty good. I have the TCL 50 XL Nxtpaper that I got for $60 and it is a darn good e reader. As a phone... not the best, but I didn't buy it for a phone.

Awesome phone
No, it's not a gaming phone or a high end camera phone, It's a phone. The mat display is fantastic, no smudges, no marks, no reflections, nothing. The display is easy on the eyes, the Nxtpaper switch is what I was going for originally. You can set it to change the visuals of your phone. I honestly use it as an e-reader but also as a back up phone, a number to get access to something on a phone I only know about so I don't need to worry about spam or hacking. In max ink mode, the phone works like normal but shuts down all non-essential apps so because of this, you get over 165 hours (with the phone not being powered off). I would say this is the apex of a minimalist phone. It connects fine to t-mobile, no signal problems. For someone that just wants a smart phone that looks great without spending $400+, this is my goto. They have a newer version of a screen coming out in late 2026 which would resemble samsung's and iphones more but for the price, features and reliability, this phone is that phone.
