The next generation of iPhones, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, could be addressing the overheating concerns that plagued their predecessors. Reports suggest that Apple is considering incorporating a graphene sheet into these upcoming models to enhance heat dissipation. Unlike the current titanium frame, which has lower thermal conductivity than stainless steel, the potential integration of graphene aims to provide a more effective solution to overheating issues, building on the improvements introduced in the iOS 17 update for the existing flagship models.

Apple’s New Strategy To Handel Overheating

Apple might switch things up for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Instead of the current graphite pads, they’re thinking about using graphene to cool down the phone’s processor. This fancy material would basically help move away the heat produced by the chip, making the phone run cooler. Cool, right?

Oh, and this isn’t the first whisper about Apple diving into the world of graphene. In November, a leaker spilled the beans on X, saying Apple had plans to outfit the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max with a nifty graphene thermal system. There’s also some buzz about a metal bracket in the mix, housing the phone’s battery. Looks like Apple’s got some intriguing plans cooking!

Before that rumor hit the microblogging scene, Apple took action. They dropped the iOS 17.0.3 update, specifically tackling the overheating troubles troubling the iPhone 15 Pro models. Apple ‘fessed up, admitting that their newest phones were grappling with some heat, blaming it on app optimization and software bugs. So, they hustled to fix it with that snazzy update.

Hold your horses! The rumored iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max might not hit the scene until the third quarter of 2024. So, take all these rumours and leaks with a grain of salt for now. Apple’s playing around with ideas—maybe graphene or even a fancy vapor cooling chamber like those in snazzy Android phones. Stay tuned, ’cause more deets on the iPhone 16 series are likely coming our way in the next few months.
