Asus has brought the newest member of its Republic of Gamers squad to India. Yes, the ROG Phone 2 is here in the Indian subcontinent gracing a high-end spec sheet for a much more aggressive price (as compared to last year).

The ROG Phone II runs on the Snapdragon 855+ chipset complemented by stupendous memory configuration. To ramp things up, Asus has added niceties like a 120Hz AMOLED display upfront. The brand has muted some of the flashy aspects of the original. Still, its a gaming phone at its heart.

ROG Phone 2 Features and Accessories

Gamers, let’s start with what you get beyond the specs on the ROG Phone 2:

  • The back brandishes the ROG-exclusive design elements, an AuraSync RGB lighting, and a matte finish.
  • There is an external heat transfer vent of the 3D vapor cooling chamber for heat dissipation, which is called Gamecool 2 mechanism.

  • You get dual front-firing speakers with DTS:X Ultra boost, 4 noise-canceling mics, all for an immersive gaming experience.
  • There is a customized connector on the side to attach the third party controllers.
  • Asus has also included an ultrasonic, pressure-sensitive Air Trigger buttons with reduced vibration latency (20ms).

Right out of the box, this is a big phone with a 6.59-inch Full HD+ 120Hz AMOLED screen. Asus has crammed in a bunch of features into this display. For instance, you get Gorilla Glass 6 protection, optical under-display fingerprint scanner, DCI-P3 color scale, HDR10 and SDR to HDR upscaling.

Inside, you get 2 UI options – heavily customized ROG UI or simpler stock-ish Zen UI. These run on top of Snapdragon 855+, coupled with 12gigs of LPDDR4x RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.0 storage.

It is powered by a massive 6000mAh battery which is backed by 30W fast charging support. The optics parades a 48MP plus 13MP duo at the back and a 24MP selfie snapper up front. Then, there are things like ARCore, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C and the usual set of sensors in the mix.
