One of the most talked-about and debated reality shows on Hindi television, Bigg Boss, is preparing to return for its 19th season shortly. Bigg Boss Season 19 is set to premiere in August 2025 and will be hosted by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. This season, Bigg Boss OTT has been substituted with the introduction of the Bigg Boss 19 TV Version, which is anticipated to be the longest season yet (approximately five months in total). Bigg Boss 19: OTT Streaming Date & Platform
While the official launch date hasn’t been confirmed by the channel so far, OTTPlay claims the show will premiere on 24th August, while other reports also mention 30th August as the release date.
The show will air on Colors TV channel and stream on JioHotstar OTT platform. This will be the first time that Bigg Boss 19 episodes will drop on OTT first before broadcasting on TV.
Bigg Boss 19: Salman Khan as Host?
Salman Khan will be back as the host of Bigg Boss 19; however, there’s a twist this time. Since this will be a five-month-long season, Salman has confirmed his dates for three months only. After his three months are completed, other hosts are expected to join in for the next two months. Karan Johar, Farah Khan, and Anil Kapoor will host the remaining two months when Salman will be unavailable. Salman would then return for the Grand Finale shoot.
Salman Khan is reportedly drawing lower fees from Bigg Boss 19 than Bigg Boss 18. Reports claim he will get Rs. 8-10 crore per week for 15 weeks, making it around Rs. 120-150 crores for the season. Gossip mills claim he drew close to Rs. 250 crore in Bigg Boss 18, so it will be a reduced sum this time.

Contestants of Bigg Boss never get confirmed before they make an entry on the premiere day. However, names get tossed around for months before the show airs.
This time around, the first contestant confirmed is Dubai-based AI Doll Habubu and India’s AI Kavya Mehra, who will be a part of the show.
Other names being tossed around are Gautami Kapoor, Dheeraj Dhoopar, Alisha Panwar, Khushi Dubey, Gaurav Taneja, Mr. Faisu, Apoorva Makhija, Purav Jha, Gaurav Khanna, Dhanashree Verma, Srirama Chandra, Arshifa Khan, Raj Kundra, Rati Pandey, Paras Kalnawat, Chandni Sharma, and makeup artist Mickey Makeover.

Bigg Boss 19: Theme & Logo
The Logo has been revealed by the channel, and the voiceover confirms that the theme of the show will be Rajneeti & Rewind this time. The motion poster is close to Illuminati, and comes in various shapes and colors.
Bigg Boss will switch to ‘Bigg Boss Jaan na chahte hain’ instead of ‘Bigg Boss Chahte hain’.
Bigg Boss 19: What’s New?
The biggest twist will be bringing back of the Secret Room, where random botton two random contestants get evicted from the house, observe the housemates’ behaviour from the secret room, and come back on the show.
