Why Should You Care About The TV S Mini LED?

Bright, Bold, & Accessible: Xiaomi Just Dropped A Mini LED Bomb On The TV Market

By packing thousands of Mini LEDs into dependent dimming zones, the new Xiaomi TV S series tries to mimic the deep blacks of OLED without the terrifying price or the fear of OLED “burn-in” issues.

For the average user, the Mini LED technology means no more squinting at the screen when the sun is directly out of their window. Under the hood, the smart TV runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS, which aims to offer seamless navigation.

The TVs support up to 120Hz of refresh rate, so that your PS5 or Xbox Series X finally stops complaining about the lag on your outdated television. You also get HDMI 2.1 connectivity. Other key specifications include support for Dolby Vision IQ and 34W in-built speakers.

How Well Has Xiaomi Priced The TV S Mini LED Lineup?

The baseline 55-inch model is priced at Rs. 49,999 (including introductory offers), which, in my opinion, is neither too aggressive nor too far beyond the reach of an average buyer. Anyway, the launch tries to bring the Mini LED technology to the mainstream markets. I’m expecting to see a ripple effect in the market.
