After releasing the Gemini-powered side panel for paid users, Google has now released several features for Chrome’s mobile users. First up, there are new Chrome Actions that start showing up as users complete their search query. Instead of waiting for the search results to load and then hitting one of them to find out the required information, users can tap on the new Chrome Actions that show up below the search box.

For instance, if someone is looking up a restaurant on Google Chrome, they’ll see Chrome Actions like Call, Directions, and Reviews.

Chrome To Show Personalized Shortcut Suggestions

Google Chrome new shortcuts

The new shortcut suggestions are another major improvement. Available on both Chrome for Android and iOS, shortcuts will help users navigate to a web address that they frequent based on what users usually type in the search box to get there. For instance, if users type in the word “schedules” to check the City Metro times, the intended web page will appear among the top suggestions.

The Web Browser Now Has A New Address Bar For Tablets

The new shortcut suggestions surely use machine learning to recognize what the user types in the search box. It’s good to see Google integrating intuitive features across the search experience. The new address bar on Google Chrome for Android tablets and iPads takes advantage of larger screens. Now, the address bar will display the current website’s URL below the drop-down menu. If users decide to go back, they can do so immediately, right from the address bar.

Discover Feed Gets Live Sports Cards

Chrome’s Discover feed on the New Tab page on iOS and Android now shows live sports cards to provide real-time updates. These will also be based on whether the user has followed the team or made a few searches about it on Chrome. Last but not least, the trending search suggestions are now available on iOS (previously available for Android users). “These trends will show up below your recent searches when you click the address bar from the New Tab page.”
