The Alphabet-owned tech giant Google is expected to reveal the Pixel 10 series later this year. Like last year, the lineup should break cover earlier than usual. Further, it could be powered with the TensoR G5 chipset. The regular Pixel 10 may also ship with some camera-related changes.
Given that the Pixel 10 series is one of the most highly anticipated launches of the year, numerous rumors and leaks are available on the internet. So, without further ado, here’s everything we know about the upcoming smartphones.
Google Pixel 10 Release Date (Expected)

For years, Google has hosted its annual hardware event, where it unveils the latest Pixel phones, in October. However, last year, the company moved the event by two months.
The Pixel 9 (review) was officially announced on August 13, 2024. Interestingly, the Alphabet-owned company sent out invitations for the Pixel 9 launch event in June 2024. We believe it was a deliberate decision to bring the Pixel launch event forward, and we expect the same to happen this year.
If everything goes well, the Pixel 10 series should break cover in August 2025. Within a few days of the announcement, the phones should also be available on the shelves.

Google Pixel 10 Lineup (Expected)
Like last year, the Google Pixel 10 lineup is expected to consist of three regular models and one foldable model.
The regular models include the vanilla Pixel 10, the Pixel 10 Pro with an additional rear camera, and the Pixel 10 Pro XL, which has the largest screen.
In addition to the regular models, Google could also launch the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, which will succeed the Pixel 9 Pro Fold released last year.
Moreover, we expect the company to reveal four phones at the August launch event.
Google Pixel 10 Design

When it comes to keeping developments secret, the company doesn’t have the best record, and this year’s no different. We’re four months away from the expected launch, and high-quality renders have already been circulating on the internet for a while.
At first glance, the Pixel 10 renders look similar to those of the Pixel 9. The phone will retain its design elements like the punch-hole camera, symmetrical bezels on the front, flat edges, and an oblong camera visor at the back.
While the regular Pixel 10 seems to have a matte texture on the frame, the Pro variants — including the Pixel 10 Pro and the Pixel 10 Pro XL — have a glossy frame. While everything else remains similar, the Pixel 10 could be 0.1 millimeters thicker than the Pixel 9.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold should follow a similar story, with minimal design upgrades. Is that bad news? In times when brands stick to their signature design for years, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the purported fold resembles the current-generation model.
Even otherwise, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is a well-designed phone. Expect its successor to feature similar flat edges (with a satin finish), thin and symmetrical bezels around the internal display, and a comfortable aspect ratio.

Google Pixel 10 Display

While the regular Pixel 10 and the Pixel 10 Pro are rumored to feature the same 6.3-inch screen, the Pixel 10 Pro XL should have a larger 6.8-inch display.
The screens on the Pro models are expected to feature AMOLED technology with support for higher refresh rates (up to 120Hz, LTPO) and peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits (what Google calls the Super Actua display).
Though the regular Pixel 9 didn’t feature an LTPO panel, we expect the Pixel 10 to include support for a better dynamic refresh rate. The phone might also achieve higher peak brightness. The screen resolution and Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection should also remain the same.
Regarding the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, the foldable is expected to feature the same 8.0-inch primary and 6.3-inch secondary panel, both of which support a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2700 nits (HBM limited to 1600 nits on the inner screen and 1800 nits on the cover screen).
Google Pixel 10 Processor

Under the hood, all the Pixel 10 series handsets should feature the Tensor G5 chip, the successor to the Tensor G4 that powered the Pixel 9 series.
Per recent rumors, the Tensor G5 could be based on TSMC’s N3E manufacturing process, making it the first 3nm chipset on a Pixel smartphone (the same fabrication technology used on Snapdragon 8 Elite, Dimensity 9400, and Apple A18 chips).
The 3nm process could result in higher performance and improved power efficiency. Unlike the previous Tensor chips, which were based on Samsung’s design, the Tensor G5 could be the first processor the company has made from scratch, unlocking more potential for hardware-software optimization.
We’ve also heard that the Tensor G5 might comprise a 3.4GHz Cortex-X4 prime core, five 2.86GHz Cortex-A725 cores, and two 2.44GHz Cortex-A520 efficiency cores. In addition to the CPU, the chip could also feature a more capable GPU (developed in collaboration with Imagination Technologies).

For these reasons, we’re expecting the Tensor G5 SoC to offer significant improvements over the previous-generation chips. The company hasn’t focused on benchmark scores so far, which should remain the theme for the upcoming chipset.
The chipset could run alongside up to 16GB of RAM on the Pixel handsets. However, some reports deny the upgrades, stating that the Tensor G5 could be built using TSMC’s 4nm fabrication technology. If that’s true, the chipset might not offer as many upgrades, leaving us disappointed.
Google Pixel 10 Software
While Google couldn’t equip the Pixel 9 series with a new Android version, it might not do the same with the Pixel 10 series. Recent rumors suggest that Google might launch Android 16 in June. If that happens, the company shouldn’t have any problems equipping the Pixel 10 series with the latest operating system.
Android 16 will offer several new features, including Live Updates, Cloud Compilation, improved Adaptive Refresh Rate, new Photo Picker APIs, and other camera-related updates.

Google Pixel 10 Camera

Earlier this month, we came across rumors about a third telephoto camera on the vanilla Pixel 10, which, for years, has featured a wide and ultrawide sensor. However, this isn’t as much of an upgrade as it seems. To equip the regular Pixel 10 with an additional telephoto sensor, Google might slightly downgrade the primary and the secondary cameras.
While the former could be the Samsung GN8 (50 MP, 1/1.95-inch) instead of the Samsung GNV (50 MP, 1/1.31-inch), the latter could be a Sony IMX712 (13 MP, 1/3.1-inch) instead of the Sony IMX858 (48 MP, 1/2.55-inch). The tertiary camera could be an 11MP Samsung 3J1 (1/3″) paired with a telephoto sensor.
While the vanilla Pixel 10 may involve a major rearrangement of sensors, The Pixel 10 Pro models should arrive with the same sensors as the Pixel 9 Pro (review) models. On the other hand, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold could feature the Samsung GN8 primary sensor (used on the Pixel 9a) instead of the Sony IMX787 (used on the Pixel 8a).
Whether the Pixel 10 will be able to provide similar or better results than the Pixel 9 is something in the holds of the future. What we do know is that the Pixel series has a track record of maximizing the potential of camera sensors through computational photography.
Google Pixel 10 Battery

Currently, there are no solid rumors or leaks regarding the Pixel 10’s battery life. Considering the competition’s strides in this department, it would be great if Google could include some battery life improvements.
While the Tensor G5’s 3nm fabrication could contribute toward the cause, nothing beats a physically larger battery cell. Given that the Pixel 9 series offered a dramatic upgrade in battery life, we expect the Pixel 10 series to provide a similar upside.
In addition to improved battery life, we expect the Pixel 10 lineup to include faster charging, both wired and wireless, with support for Qi2 wireless chargers and compatible accessories.

Google Pixel 10 Price
There’s a good chance that the Pixel 10 will cost the same as the Pixel 9 series, as the Pixel 9 already came with a Rs. 5,000 hike. However, there may be a minor price increase due to the improvement in chip manufacturing processes.
The same hypothesis applies to the Pixel 10 Pro and the Pixel 10 Pro XL, which may either launch at the same price or a minor hike over their predecessors.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold debuted in India for Rs. 1,72,999, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is also expected to launch around the same time, possibly with a minor price hike.
