An online listing from a Spanish retailer, XUruguay, has suggested that Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to be released on September 17, 2025. This date is noteworthy as it coincides with the 12th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto V’s launch and aligns with Rockstar Games’ assertion that GTA 6 will debut in the Fall of 2025. However, the listing was removed shortly thereafter, leaving fans uncertain about whether it was an error or if there was some truth to the claim.
The gaming news platform 80 Level reports that XUruguay has ties to PlayStation, leading to questions regarding the reliability of the leak. It remains unclear whether the date was derived from insider information or merely an approximation, as neither Rockstar Games nor its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, has provided any confirmation regarding the launch date.

GTA 6 Pricing Rumors
Industry analyst Matthew Ball recently stated in his report “State of Video Gaming 2025″ that the standard edition of GTA 6 could potentially reach a price of USD 100. He noted that the game’s significant popularity has enabled Take-Two Interactive to consider a higher price point. This situation mirrored the trend in 2020 when several gaming companies raised their prices from USD 60 to USD 70; however, a jump to USD 100 may be excessive. In his analysis, Ball mentions, “There is hope among some in the market that GTA 6 will be priced at USD 80 (approximately 7000 INR) or even USD 100.” For context, GTA 5 was initially released at USD 59.99 (around Rs. 5200).
The analyst suggests that this increase in price could serve as a pivotal moment for the gaming industry, potentially breaking a significant price threshold and allowing other developers to follow suit with their price increases. He pointed out that, when adjusted for inflation, GTA 4 was priced at approximately USD 90, while GTA 5 was around USD 83 in today’s dollars. Given that every category has experienced a doubling in prices, this latest hike is not unexpected according to the analyst.
Additionally, Ball does not anticipate that GTA 6 will be priced at 100 USD upon its release. He is examining market trends and believes it may launch at the standard price of 70 USD. In addition to game pricing, publishers often increase their revenue through special editions, battle passes, and similar offerings. While there have been cases where publishers have exceeded the 100 USD mark for versions that include perks such as early access and other premium features, this has not applied to the base version.
IGN consulted with gaming industry analysts regarding the pricing of GTA 6, and the consensus among them is that a price of $70 is more probable. One analyst noted that suggesting a price of $100, especially without any added incentives such as early access, would be excessive even for a title like GTA 6.

A recent theory has emerged online suggesting that Rockstar Games could potentially announce details regarding GTA 6 after January 30. According to Reddit user Arvoss, there is speculation that Rockstar may disclose the launch date during Take-Two Interactive’s third-quarter earnings call, as reported by GAMINGbible. This announcement could also feature a second trailer or additional in-game screenshots to satisfy the gaming community.
