Apple recently launched the new M3 MacBook Air models via press release. At the same time, there was chatter about the new iPad Air and iPad Pro models, but the company didn’t release these products. However, according to a new report, the iPad maker is gearing up to release the new models soon. And it will not just be the new iPads, but a new Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil (3rd Generation) will also arrive soon.

New iPad Launch Timeline

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple will revamp the iPad Air and iPad Pro lineup by the end of this month or early next month. “Look for that new hardware around the end of March or in April, as that’s when the accompanying iPadOS 17.4 software should be ready to go,” mentions Gurman in his report. The new hardware includes M2-powered iPad Air models, M3-powered iPad Pro models, and accessories, as mentioned above.

2024 iPad Air Expected Upgrades

Apple’s 2024 M2 iPad Air will have two screen sizes: 10.9-inch and 12.9-inch. While the former has been the standard size for the last two years, the latter will be a new addition to the lineup. Though the bigger model will still use LCD technology, it is a significant upgrade, as it will provide the large-screen experience at a more affordable price than the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

Other expected changes include a new camera bump with a flash and new colors. The iPad Air (5th Generation), with a 10.9-inch screen, is available in India for Rs. 59,990. Building on that, the upcoming models could be slightly more expensive, especially the one with a 12.9-inch screen.

2024 iPad Pro Expected Upgrades

The new iPad Pro models will feature Apple’s latest M3 chipset and an OLED screen, which will significantly enhance the viewing experience. However, with these upgrades, the price of the new iPad Pro models could also go up. According to a previous report, the 11-inch iPad Pro with an OLED screen could cost as much as $959. Similarly, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro could cost $1,259.

Apart from these changes, the new iPad Pros could also feature support for MagSafe wireless charging, a horizontally aligned front camera, and a revamped rear camera setup. From what it looks like, the iPad Pro will get a bigger upgrade than the iPad Air, but we’ll learn more about these developments only when Apple releases the products.

New Apple Pencil And Magic Keyboard Are Also Expected

Besides the new iPads, we expect the company to release a new Apple Pencil. The third-generation Apple Pencil should be compatible with the Find My Network and come with magnetically detachable tips to provide more precision to professionals. A new Magic Keyboard with an aluminum frame is also on its way. It is said to be more durable and sturdy than the currently available product.

In a related development, Patently Apple has discovered a patent that details the design for an adjustable stand for computers, improving portability and space utilization. However, a few drawings in the patent suggest the presence of a touchscreen display on an iMac. The patent, on the other hand, doesn’t mention anything about a touchscreen per se. Hence, it’s difficult to comment precisely on its purpose.
