TL; DR
- HP launches the ZBook Ultra G3a in India from ₹2,89,990, excluding taxes.
- HP claims that up to 192GB of memory lets it run 300-billion-parameter models locally.
- At 1.9kg with a 14-hour claim, it carries only a one-year warranty.
I’ve seen plenty of laptops calling themselves AI-ready because they can blur the background in your video. HP is making a far bigger claim for the ZBook Ultra G3a, which is now on sale in India. It says this 1.9kg machine can run language models of up to 300 billion parameters entirely on the device, without touching the cloud.

What Does ₹2,89,990 Actually Buy You?
That’s the starting price. HP sells the laptop through its commercial channel partners, in a single Eclipse Gray finish. Here’s the catch I’d flag: the base configuration HP lists (E64YBAW) pairs 32GB of memory and a 512GB SSD with a 1920 x 1200 IPS screen. The asking price for the same, mind you, is ₹2,89,990, and you can easily get an OLED panel for that price.
The 2.8K OLED panel and the 192GB memory ceiling make the headlines, but launch coverage doesn’t say which configuration carries which price. I’m sure that configuration would command a serious premium over the base price.

Who Is This Workstation Really For?
Mostly AI developers, engineers, or small businesses that care about privacy and cloud bills; it is not for gamers. Up to 160GB of the 192GB unified memory can be dedicated to graphics. The baseline variant might not sound as compelling, but the top chip is the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495, a 16-core part that boosts to 5.2GHz, backed by a 55 TOPS NPU.
Cooling is tuned for up to 100W, the 96Wh battery is rated for up to 14 hours, and 140W or 180W GaN chargers keep the adapter compact. The keyboard is IT-replaceable, which should ease fleet-wide repairs. At 1.9 kg, it undercuts its rivals on weight, though those rivals carry NVIDIA RTX PRO graphics, which give them an edge in 3D and rendering work.
