According to rumors, Apple is planning to release iPhone 13 series next month and it will feature a vanilla iPhone 13 along with a mini, a pro, and a max model, similar to its existing iPhone 12 lineup. The launch of the iPhone 12 series last year was delayed by a month because of the COVID-19 crisis, but Apple has been updating its iPhone lineup in September for the last few years. There have been rumors about the upcoming series for a long time, and here’s what we know so far.

As for the design, the dual-camera system will be maintained on the regular iPhone 13 and mini, while the triple-camera system will be present on the Pro. The dummy phones show a larger sensor and dual cameras are positioned diagonally on the regular models. In the regular models, there is a laser sensor and an LED flash included in the camera module. As for the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max, they may include a LiDAR sensor, similar to the existing pro models.

All iPhone 13 models will have a shrunken notch on the front and the Pro models will reportedly support 120Hz refresh rates, which are already present in iPad Pro (2020 and 2021) models. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, said that the next-generation iPhone would be equipped with Apple Watch-like Always-On Display (AOD) technology. Apple may use power-efficient LTPO displays to achieve AOD and 120Hz refresh rates without impacting the battery. In addition, Apple could retain the USB Type-C port at the bottom instead of the Lightning port for faster charging.

The phone is also rumored to include faster 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6E, two new color options (Pearl, Sunset Gold), wireless charging, portrait mode for videos, and an improved wide-angle lens with autofocus.
