The Chinese smartphone manufacturer iQOO is gearing up to launch its next-generation flagship. Dubbed iQOO 13, the handset will carry the company’s legacy of providing top-notch hardware and software at a relatively affordable price than the competition. Ahead of the iQOO 13’s Chinese launch, the company has confirmed the battery and charging details of the flagship.

iQOO 13 To Feature A 6.000+ mAh Cell, Company Confirms Battery And Charging Specifications

The company has now confirmed the presence of a massive 6,150 mAh battery on the iQOO 13. Even though the phone is 7.99mm thick, the manufacturer has managed to fit in a battery that is 23% bigger than the one on the predecessor. In addition, the phone utilizes semi-solid battery technology, which can be operated in extremely cold environments.

For those catching up, the iQOO 12 (review) came with a 5,000 mAh battery. This was pretty much the standard for a flagship in 2024. However, going forward, Chinese manufacturers will resort to larger battery cells. For instance, the newly-launched vivo X200 and the Oppo Find X8 feature a 5,800 mAh and a 5,630 mAh battery, which are significantly larger than their predecessor.

What’s worth noting is that the iQOO 13 will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, while the other flagships from iQOO’s sister companies feature the Dimensity 9400 SoC. Although we ain’t skeptical about the processors’ processing prowess, there were some speculations about their power-hungry nature on the internet. Even so, we expect the larger batteries to do well.

Besides A Massive Battery, The Phone Features 100W PPS Charging

Besides, the phone supports 100W PPS charging. The iQOO 13 also features a new cache architecture, which is optimized for handling intensive tasks while consuming less power. These details about the battery and the charging are reassuring, considering how serious the company is with its upcoming flagship and how well it would compete with the other models in the segment.

We already know a few tidbits about the iQOO 13. For instance, it will sport a 6.82-inch 2K flat display developed by BOE. Further, the display also employs circularly-polarized eye protection, a technology that converts that artificial light from the phone’s screen into a state similar to natural light. Regarding optics, the phone is supposed to feature a triple 50MP camera with a wide, ultrawide, and telephoto lens.

Earlier this month, SmartPrix exclusively revealed the global launch date of the iQOO 13. The phone will debut in India on December 3, 2024, roughly a month after its Chinese debut.
