TL; DR
  • Lava Bold N4 Lite launches at an introductory price of ₹7,999 via Amazon from September 3.
  • Runs Android 16 Go Edition on a Unisoc 9863A chip with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage.
  • Comes with a 5,000mAh battery, MIL-STD-810H rating, and 2 years of security updates.

Lava has added another smartphone to its Bold lineup, and it is one of the most affordable smartphone launches. If you’re not already aware, the memory crisis is pushing smartphone prices across segments. Several market research reports claim that making affordable, accessible smartphones will get tougher for brands.

While the N4 Lite is trying to be the phone people on a budget buy without thinking twice, it cuts quite a few corners to get there, and that’s visible in the spec sheet.

Lava Bold N4 Lite: Key Specifications & Features

The first and the most important thing that you should know about the Lava Bold N4 Lite is that it runs on Android Go. That sets the context for its entire spec sheet. That said, the handset features a 6.56-inch qHD display and an octa-core Unisoc 9863A chip on a 28nm process. For those catching up, smartphones over ₹15,000 are mostly built on a 4nm process.

It gets 3GB of RAM (up to 6GB via virtual expansion) and 32GB of onboard storage. An 8MP rear camera and 5MP front shooter solve their basic purpose. The most useful spec is the 5,000 mAh battery, which should easily last a day of moderate use. Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a MIL-STD-810H durability badge.

Lava also offers two years of security patches and its doorstep “Free Service @ Home” support program to make the package look more appealing.

I think the doorstep service commitment says more about who Lava is targeting than the spec sheet does. The phone looks like it’s built for someone in a smaller town, people who want a working device without fearing the visits to the service centers if something goes wrong.
