MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ Debuts With 4nm Fabrication Tech And A 3.4GHz Prime Core

The Taiwanese chip manufacturer MediaTek has launched one of the most awaited flagship chipsets – Dimensity 9300+. It features some of the most impressive specs on a mobile processor, including one Cortex-X4 prime core with up to 3.4GHz clock speed, support for UFS 4.0 storage, and the company’s APU 790 generative AI engine. 

With its feats, the Dimensity 9300+ rivals the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The processor is built on the third-generation TSMC 4nm processor, which provides an excellent balance between performance and efficiency. Further, it comes with advanced AI processing ability for text, image, and music generation.

The flagship processor comes with an octa-core CPU. It consists of one Cortex-X4 core (up to 3.4GHz), three underpowered Cortex-X4 cores (up to 2.85GHz), and four Cortex-A720 cores (up to 2.0GHz). Regarding memory and storage, the processor supports LPDDR5T and LPDDR5X memory, along with UFS 4.00 storage.

The processor also features the Arm Immoralis-G720 MC12 GPU, which provides up to 20 percent more power efficiency than alternative flagship smartphone platforms. Other gaming-related features include a second-generation ray tracking engine, adaptive gaming technology, hardware-accelerated mobile raytracing, and HyperEngine, a network observation system.

Another major highlight of the product is the MediaTek APU 790 Generative AI Engine, which enables faster, safer, reliable AI computing. The AI Engine supports on-device LoRA Fusiona and NeuroPilot LoRA Fusion 2.0. Further, the company has collaborated with several leaders in the space, including Google (for Gemini Nano) and Meta (for Llama 2 and Llama 3).

The Dimensity 9300+ supports a 4K display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Further, it also supports a 320MP camera with 8K video recording at 30 frames per second and 4K recording at 60 frames per second. 

Connectivity options on the processor include Sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth v5.4, etc.
