Lately, MediaTek is fast-tracking its chip business with new silicons. The brand has two main verticals – Helio and Dimensity, currently catering 4G and 5G respectively. It’s more than a year since we last saw the Helio P90. Today, the brand has announced the successor. From the looks of the specs, this one named Helio P95 is more of an iterative upgrade.
But, the highlight is the 10-percent benchmark performance gain the APU 2.0 brings. Yes, the Helio P95 heralds a newer AI processing unit. It now also accommodates 64-megapixel snapper.

MediaTek Helio P95 features
It’s an octa-core silicon fabricated on TSMC’s 12 nm architecture. This comprises of two performance-driven ARM Cortex-A75 cores maxed at up to 2.2GHz clock speed along with six efficiency-based ARM Cortex A-55 cores ticking at up to 2.0GHz.

The board is home to a PowerVR GM 94446 GPU, APU 2.0 (as mentioned above), and triple ISPs. Thanks to the latter, the chip can process 14-bit RAW and 10-bit YUV, along with support for either up to 64MP cameras or a 24+16MP duo. The photography is backed by AI-NR and a dedicated depth engine that’s 6-times faster and can capture 2.25X higher resolution.
Helio P95 supports up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.1 storage. There is the in-grown HyperEngine for “intelligent networking, rapid touchscreens, and vivid visuals, especially during gaming.
Rest, the chip comes with MediaTek Helio P95 supports WiFi 5, and Bluetooth 5.0, Dual 4G VoLTE (Cat-12 down and Cat-13 up), ViLTE (video over LTE), 4×4 MIMO, and 256 QAM.
MediaTek Helio P95 Availability
There is no official wording on the phones that will come running Helio P95. That said, the Oppo Reno 3 Pro is rumored to be the first Helio P95 phone. It is set to go official on March 2 in India. Still, up until any confirmation, we advise you to take it as speculation only.
