Netflix Renews 8 Shows With New Seasons: 7 New Titles Announced

Streaming powerhouse Netflix is preparing to hold its annual Fan Event, TUDUM, on May 31st. In anticipation of this event, Netflix recently conducted an Upfront event where it renewed eight beloved series for new seasons and unveiled several new shows and films. The renewals feature fan-favorites such as Bridgerton, The Diplomat, and The Four Seasons, while the new offerings include The Body, Here Comes the Flood, and Fight for ’84. Here’s what we have learned about these upcoming titles.

8 Series Get Renewed with New Seasons

1. Bridgerton Season 5 & 6

While Bridgerton Season 4 will premiere early in 2026 (most likely February 2026), the show has been renewed for not one but two more seasons. Similar to how Season 3 and 4 were announced, the same way Season 5 and 6 have been confirmed too. The official account on Instagram shared a post in traditional style, with Lady Whistledown writing,

“Dearest Gentle Reader, Rarely is this author granted the opportunity to share with you such information. It is with great pleasure I can announce Bridgerton shall return for Seasons 5 and 6. Do celebrate accordingly. And in the meantime, do prepare yourselves for Bridgerton Season 4 shall debut in 2026. It would seem this author is going to be quite busy. Yours Truly, Lady Whistledown”.

Since after season 4, four siblings will be left- Eloise, Francesa, Gregory and Hyacinth. Season 5 and 6 will most likely focus on Eloise and Francesa Bridgerton.

2. My Life with the Walter Boys Season 3

Season two of this popular series will debut this Summer, but the work on Season 3 has already begun. The third is in early development, and the show will be back in 2026.

3. Survival of the Thickest Season 3

This will be the final season of the series. Michelle Buteau will be back for one final ride with Season 3.

4. Forever Season 2

Forever Season one was released recently, and within ten days, the show has got its next season. Mara Brock Akil says that the second season will be a love letter back to the people, and the team is honored and excited to be back.

5. The Diplomat Season 4

Expected to be the final season, The Diplomat starring Keri Russell, Allison Janney, and Rufus Sewell will come back in Fall 2025 with a third season and a fourth season will debut by the end of 2025 or early 2026.

6. The Four Seasons Season 2

Two weeks after its first season, it has received a renewal. The second season will have eight episodes, and the team says they are grateful for the audience’s love they have received and are excited to be back.

7. Love on the Spectrum Season 4

The Emmy Award-winning series will be back to follow a group of hopeful daters with autism. The first three seasons are currently streaming on Netflix.

8. Million Dollar Secret Season 2

A new group of players will compete in the ultimate game of wit, cunning, and deception. It is a competition where players must hunt down and eliminate a mystery millionaire among their ranks.

Shows like Wednesday and One Piece will also get new seasons, though announcements are pending.

New Shows & Movies

1. All The Sinners Bleed

Produced by Higher Ground Productions, this new thriller show adapts S.A. Cosby’s thriller novel. Joe Robert Cole is the showrunner and the plotline reads, “Haunted by his past in the FBI and his devout mother’s untimely death, the first Black Sheriff in a small Bible Belt County Must lead the hunt for a serial killer that has quietly been preying on Black communities in Southern Virginia for years in the name of God.”

2. Here Comes the Flood

This movie stars Denzel Washington alongside Daisy Edgar-Jones and Robert Pattinson. It will be directed by Meirelles and is a heist thriller. The plotline says, “An unconventional heist movie about a bank guard, a teller, and a master thief in a deadly game of cons and double crosses”.

3. PRIME TIME

Documentary series by Skydance Sports and NFL Films is a 3-part show following American Football coach Deion Sanders. It will premiere in 2026.

4. Fight for 84’

 This movie stars Jamie Foxx and has been directed by Andres Baiz. It is a sports drama written by Andrea Berloff, John Gatins, and Andy Weiss. The plotline reads, “After the US Olympic Boxing Team is tragically killed in a plane crash in 1980, a new coach is brought in to rebuild the team from scratch and lead them to victory at the ’84 Olympics, winning the most medals in Olympic boxing history.”

5. Star Search

The live event has America’s Got Talent showrunner Jason Raff, and it brings a new live singing competition series to Netflix.

6. The Body

Showrunner Quinn Shephard will showrun this drama series that will consist eof ight episodes. The plotline reads, “After a dance-team initiation gone wrong, a group of badly behaved Catholic school girls begin having prophetic visions that set off mass hysteria in their town.”

7. Untitled Dan Levy Comedy

This eight-episode comedy series will go into production in 2025 with Taylor Ortega and Laurie Metcalf starring. The plotline reads, “Two deeply incapable siblings are blackmailed into the world of organized crime.”
