Every year, Apple leaps forward in terms of tech and innovation. With the upcoming iPhone 15 series launch scheduled for September 12, there’s a lot of buzz around it. Turns out we just got our hands on leaks carrying information on the camera setup that both non-Pro and Pro models are likely packing in. Of course, this includes the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s periscope telephoto lens too.

Apple iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus Camera Specifications

Both the non-Pro iPhone 15 will get a dual camera setup as the year before. The primary cam uses a 48MP sensor with f/1.6 aperture while the secondary ultra wide-angle cam uses a 12MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture.

As you can see, the iPhone 15 Plus is already upgrading from a 12MP to a 48MP primary camera. Do note that these aren’t IMX803 from iPhone 14 Pro so we will have to wait to see what it performs. Apple is adopting a stacked camera sensor system that should efficiently shutter speeds and low-light photography.

Apple iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max Camera Specifications

As usual, the Pro series will up its game compared to the non-Pro models sporting a triple-cam setup. The duo will pack in a 48 MP primary camera with an IMX803 sensor and a f/1.78 aperture paired alongside a periscope 12.7MP telephoto camera with f/2.8 aperture. Finally, a third 13.4MP ultrawide snapper with f/2.2 takes the tertiary position on the duo.

The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will get a much-anticipated periscope telephoto camera capable of exceeding 5x to 10x optical zoom. It is likely to get a larger focal length (150mm) than last year’s iPhone. Rumors have it that next year’s iPhone 16 Pro Max (300mm) will exceed the current Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra focal length of 230mm.

The periscope shooter is paired with Apple’s exceptional camera software and designed with an improved signal-to-noise ratio among other techs. Of course, the periscope telephoto lens will bring a few things up its sleeves including a 6mm aperture thickness and, a cutting-edge imaging system among others for a professional audio and video output.

My iPhone 13 pro sometimes has a problem with the camera not working. But when it was first released, its camera attracted many consumers. I have solved this problem using TunesKit iOS System Recovery. Now Apple says that iPhone 15 pro max has the best lens, but I doubt it.
