Carl Pei’s Nothing has already confirmed that it will soon launch its first ever smartphone in 2022. Teasing about their upcoming smartphone, Pei said that it would be unlike anything else in the market. Since then everyone has been waiting for the launch date of the phone to be announced and seems like now there is some development on this front.
In a response to a user query on Twitter, Pei replied that Nothing phone (1) will launch on “6/9 at 4:20”. This would mean 9th June at 4:20 PM according to the US date format. While some users are taking this seriously, others feel it might be a joke. Earlier too, a landing page on Flipkart had confirmed Nothing phone (1)’ s debut.

Nothing phone (1) expected specs & renders
A Twitter user (@rsjdon01) has revealed the specs of the Nothing phone (1). A few renders of the phone have also surfaced online. The user claims that the smartphone will come with a Snapdragon 778G chipset and have 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The phone is expected to pack a 4500mAh battery but there’s still no news about fast charging. The user claims that the phone will have wireless charging and run Android 12 out of the box.
Nothing phone (1) is expected to sport a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with HDR10+ support and 90Hz refresh rate. The rear panel will have a 50MP main, 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP cameras. The front will see a 32MP selfie lens.

If these leaks turn out to be true, then Nothing phone (1) will not be a flagship-grade smartphone. It will just be a midrange model with good enough specs and features. However since there is no way to check the authenticity of these leaks, so they should be taken with a pinch of salt for now. Since the launch is expected to take place in the coming months, the company itself will start giving official updates soon.
